Audiobook Review: Bought (Highest Bidder, #1). ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bought by Lauren Landish

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Everything has a price … and I’m willing to pay. I trust no one. I thrive with control and I’ve learned to be ruthless and coldhearted. A love life? I’m not interested.

💓

But I still have desires.

💘

That’s where Dahlia came in; my treasure. She had never been a submissive before and I was eager to train her.

💝

The dusting of sparkles on her dress barely hid her tempting curves. I wanted to see all of her. My d*ck was already hard at the thought of my hand leaving a bright red print across her lush ass.

❤️

When I saw her on stage at the auction, dressed in gold, I knew I had to have her.

💛

She’s mine for an entire month. I own her. But one lie changed everything.

❤️‍🔥

She’s going to be punished for it. But I’m doing this for her own good. She needs this.

❣️

I’m going to make this right. I’m going to heal her.

If it’s the last thing I do.

❤️‍🩹

*Bought is a full-length standalone romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

Rough love!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧
Romance: 🖤💜🤎
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗
World building: 🌎🌏🌍
Character development: 😍😕🙃

The heroine: Dahlia – she is doing an unpaid internship which will help her in her career but it doesn’t pay the bills. So when her friend tells her how much she could make in one month if she put herself on the auction block at a BDSM club, Dahlia jumps at the chance.

The Hero(es): Lucian – he is a billionaire businessman who is also a Dom, but he doesn’t trust easily after he married a woman that turned out to be only after his money and his own family tried to steal his business and all of his money. He likes the idea of purchasing a sub at the auction because he will have her for a month with no feelings involved and she will have signed an iron clad NDA.

The story: Dahlia was abused by an uncle when she was a child and since then is only turned on by rough sex and complete submission, but she is afraid of what she wants because she thinks after what happened to her she should have gone the other direction. So the auction is the perfect chance to get her desires met and come away with a bundle of cash.

The story was steamy and centered around the fact that Lucian owned Dahlia for a month and could do whatever he wanted to her and with her. The story was ok, but nothing spectacular. The narration was good and I was glad it was done by a man and a woman. I thought the man’s voice was a bit soft for the part, but Lucian was a billionaire so it might have fit him as a gentleman.

The one thing I really disliked about this was how Lucian referred to Dahlia from the very start as his treasure, he thought of her as his treasure, called her treasure and it was all a bit too Gollum for me, like she was an object and not a person.
