The heroine: Frankie Helburn (a.k.a. Sarah Jackson) – a computer hacker in hiding. Her Father had her change her name so she couldn’t be found.
The Hero(es): Smoke – His wife and child are murdered and he is bent on revenge. The trail takes him to look for a man named Frank Helburn. He finds Frank’s daughter Frankie, living under the name Sarah Jackson. Sarah is an 18 year old high school student.
The Story: Smoke is working with someone named Griff to find Frank Helburn, the man who was responsible for his family’s deaths. He kidnaps Frankie in order to draw out her father.
As for the narration, this was told in dual POV’s and I really liked the male narrator. He had a deep and gruff voice that fits the hot tattooed biker, Smoke. However, I didn’t really like the female narrator. Her voice was a bit too deep and old sounding for an 18 year old girl. Though the story is a good one, so that overcame my feelings about the narration.
I love the King series. You can always count on T.M. Frazier to include the gang and especially my all time favorite character, Preppy. He always has some killer quotes and one liners. His view of the world is definitely one of a kind and I just love any book he is a part of. There were 3 Preppy books and I could definitely take another three.
This book is a captive romance, which I love and the heroine is a strong woman (despite her young age). The intimate scenes are searingly hot! Though this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who has read any of the King series and the storylines are just terrific. Both Frankie and Smoke’s pasts are shrouded in mystery which makes for great romantic suspense within the story.
