Traction by Dani René
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Traction is an enemies to lovers romance in K. Bromberg’s Driven World with twists and turns, not only on the track!
I spend my life in the fast lane, and I like it that way.
One night stands are waiting for me at the finish line.
I don’t lose.
I don’t love.
And I never saw her coming.
Nothing could have prepared me for Haelee Pearson speeding into my life, and I certainly wasn’t ready for her to knock me back to reality.
My life has been in a constant state of traction, until she glanced my way.
She hates me. I want her. And like I said, I never lose.
She’s tougher than any race I’ve ever driven. Claiming her would mean leaving my arrogance at the door, and handing my heart over on a silver platter. And I’m just not sure I can do it.
Or can I?
Traction
Nice romance with a strong heroine!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💜💛
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎
Character development: 👤👤👤👤
The setting: “The Driven World” – Professional car racing.
The Hero: Kayden – Race car driver. Has won every race he has entered and has been a professional race car driver for years. His father died, which left a big hole in his heart and his father also left him Mercer Industries, though the board wants him out because they think he is too focused on racing to be good for the company.
The heroine: Haelee – Race car driver. Haelee grew up around cars, racing and driving and loves everything about it. She races in local races but has never raced professionally. Before he died, her dad recommended her to famous driver and team owner, Colton Donovan.
The Love Story: Kayden first sees Haelee in a hot tub at a party and wants her immediately but she disappears and he then meets her again when they are both brought on to Colton’s Racing Team. They have a lot in common but Kayden’s big mouth gets him in to trouble right away and Haelee immediately hates him.
Kayden is Haelee’s driving coach and is nine years older than her twenty years. He has always been a big playboy but he falls for Haelee instantly. The romance moves pretty fast and is somewhat stilted at the beginning. Probably because they fall for each other and get together within two days of meeting.
The insta love was a bit too instant for me, I kinda get a kick out of books that have this playboy who can’t stick with one woman for any length of time, they are always surrounded by beautiful women, but then they see this one special woman and fall for her immediately without even knowing her like she is so different than all those other girls. But it isn’t a big showstopper for me as far as a book goes.
I really like it when authors go outside the office setting and do something different, and the world of professional car racing isn’t something I have read before, so that was a bonus in this book.
