Midnight With The Devil. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Midnight with the Devil by Emma Castle

My rating: 4 of 5 stars.

He’s sexy as sin and hotter than hell and—oh wait.

What would you do to save a loved one’s life? Make a pact with the Devil?

In Diana Kingston’s defense, it was the middle of the night in the deserted hospital chapel… surely it was just a dream. She hadn’t really sold herself to a brooding stranger to save her father’s life, right? Then she wakes and her father is fully recovered and a mysterious letter arrives from the tall, dark, handsome—um, Devil? Yep, it was right there on the contract, Lucien Star, aka Lucifer Morningstar, that had been his name in the dream… Gulp. What would the Devil himself want with her? Sex. Three months of hot, sweaty, Friday night sex.

Ooookay. Breaking a pact with the Devil doesn’t seem like a smart move. So she’ll do it—but she won’t like it. Not much anyway. But she starts liking it – a lot—and every night they spend together, she likes it and Lucien a little more. Being with him allows her naughty side to come out and play, but Diana starts to see more than just a sexy-as-sin, rock-hard … er…Anyway, he might be Satan, but even he was an angel once. Kind. Noble. And she sees glimpses of that man still inside him… But how in Heaven’s name do you save the Devil from himself?

Midnight With The Devil

Lucifer in love is one of my favorite romance tropes!

I like stories about Lucifer, especially when he comes to earth and gets interested in a woman. We all sort of want that, you know. To be the one that really stands out and holds the interest of the most powerful and baddest of all the bad boys. And just think if you could really be the one he fell for?

This story has all the magic that is Lucifer, of course he is only interested in Diana because he made a deal with her. He cured her Fathers cancer in return for three months of Friday nights with him beginning at Midnight each Friday. If he is able to corrupt her pure soul in that time, it belongs to him forever and will be valuable in holding the gates of Hell closed. Corrupted pure souls are extra powerful for that apparently.

What I really like about these stories is the background about fallen angels and Lucifer. It all seems so unfair to me. You know. It does really make God seem like a huge Dick. I mean if you look at God as the Father and Angels an Humans as like half brothers and sisters. So Lucifer was jealous of his half siblings and started a fight at home. So Dad kicks him out forever and sends him to Hell never to be heard from again. Harsh Punishment for a Dad who is supposed to be all about forgiveness, right?

Anyway I like how Lucifer isn’t truly evil himself, he is just the one that has the job of punishing the evil doers. He has to keep the demons in Hell also. Angels and Fallen are all about pleasure, like sex, greed, entertainment etc. It is just when they do too much and hurt others that the fallen turn into demons and then Lucifer has to put them to work in Hell.

Diana:
Stop texting me. I’m about to go to the grocery store, and I won’t text and drive, not even for you. By the way, I hate emojis.

Asshat:
The person who created emojis has a spot reserved in my workplace. Don’t worry, he’ll get his comeuppance.

Good book overall, though the ending might have been a bit too Pretty for me.
