The Dark Light of Day by T.M. Frazier
My rating: 4 of 5 stars.
Homeless, sleeping in a junkyard, and on the run from a system that has failed her over and over again, Abby meets Jake, a tattooed blue-eyed biker with secrets that rival her own. Two broken souls that can’t be healed, they can’t be saved. Abby and Jake have to decide if they can accept the darkness not only within one another, but within themselves.
The Dark Light Of Day
If they can accept each other for who they really are they might learn that love isn’t always found in the light…
I expected Jake to be a bit darker!

I read this after reading the first seven books of the King series. I was really interested in hearing Jake’s story after reading so much about him in those books. He is such an emotionless killing machine in those books. He gets off on the blood, killing and even torture.
So I was a bit surprised at how nice he was to Abby when he first meets her and how normal he is. Also how quickly he falls in love with her. I expected him to be a little more like Dexter. Not that he isn’t dark, he is certainly that. He also eventually admits that he is a hired killer.
The story was very good though. Abby’s background and what she goes through is very much the focus in this even more than Jake. He is a good man for Abby. Overall I really liked the story. I was just hoping for a bit more dark and twisty I guess.
