Audiobook Review: Stolen by the Alien Prince (Rogue Warriors of Lorr, #1) by Celia Kyle. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stolen by the Alien Prince by Celia Kyle

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This alien warrior prince never had a problem taking what he wanted… until he met her.

When alien warrior Kozien Lorrz left behind life as the heir to his planet’s throne to run a team that hunts down missing things, his father swore he’d make him regret the decision. According to the king, leaving his duties behind was a mistake, and taking his brothers was an act of treason.

Now, with business dwindling, Kozien is forced to send a message into the universe that his team is offering a pro-bono case—a move that could draw in new clients or alert their father to their whereabouts.

Gianna Clay needs help locating her missing brother, but local authorities are none too keen to help the human woman—not only due to her dicey past but because rumor has it her brother fell in with the D’Narvius, a vicious, monstrous race known for drugs and murder.

Her only hope of finding him comes in the form of an advertisement. But when the grim, all-too-sexy alien warrior arrives, his gruff arrogance has her ready to call the whole thing off. That is until digging into her brother’s disappearance uncovers a dark and sinister plot that could affect the entire galaxy.

Now the two must put their differences aside, no matter the cost.

Character Backgrounds and Plot Summary

Gianna Clay has spent years searching for answers about her missing brother. When new information points her toward an alien connection, she takes a huge risk in hopes of finally discovering what happened to him. Her determination and loyalty to her family drive much of the story, making her easy to sympathize with from the beginning.

Kozien Lorrz is an elite alien warrior and the heir to the throne of Lorr. While he possesses the strength and authority expected of a future ruler, he is also burdened by political responsibilities and expectations. His life becomes complicated when Gianna enters it, bringing both danger and unexpected emotions.

The story begins with Gianna’s search for her brother leading her directly into Kozien’s world. What starts as a desperate attempt to find a missing family member quickly evolves into a larger conflict involving alien politics, hidden agendas, and threats against the royal family. As Kozien and Gianna work together, attraction grows between them, but both have reasons to resist. Gianna does not fully trust the powerful alien prince, while Kozien struggles to balance his duties with his feelings for her.

Highlights and Limitations

One of the strongest aspects of the book is the relationship between Gianna and Kozien. Their romance develops through shared challenges rather than instant attraction alone. Gianna consistently proves she is more than a damsel in distress. She asks difficult questions, pushes back when necessary, and remains focused on finding her brother even when romance complicates matters.

I also enjoyed the world-building. The authors provide enough information about Lorr’s culture, politics, and royal structure to create an interesting setting without overwhelming the story with exposition. Kozien’s position as heir to the throne adds meaningful stakes because every decision he makes has consequences beyond his personal life.

The mystery surrounding Gianna’s brother helps keep the plot moving. Instead of serving as a simple excuse to bring the characters together, the search remains important throughout the story and gives Gianna a compelling personal goal.

One limitation is that some plot developments feel predictable, especially for readers familiar with fated mate or alien romance stories. There are moments when the outcome seems obvious long before the characters reach the same conclusion. I also would have liked a deeper exploration of certain political conflicts, since some of the larger issues affecting Lorr are introduced but not fully developed in this first installment.

Narration

Elle Sonali and Todd McLaren do an excellent job bringing the dual perspectives to life. Sonali captures Gianna’s determination, fear, and vulnerability without making her sound weak. Her performance helps emphasize Gianna’s emotional investment in finding her brother and makes several tense scenes particularly engaging.

Todd McLaren is well suited to Kozien’s character. His deeper voice conveys authority and confidence, which fits an alien warrior prince perfectly. At the same time, he effectively communicates Kozien’s growing emotional attachment to Gianna, allowing listeners to see beyond the character’s intimidating exterior. Though his pacing is a bit slow and he does sound older than Kozien should be.

The dual narration format enhances the romance because each narrator provides insight into their character’s private thoughts and feelings. Both performers maintain consistent characterizations throughout the audiobook, making it easy to stay immersed in the story.

Final Opinion

Stolen by the Alien Prince is an entertaining blend of science fiction adventure, royal intrigue, mystery, and romance. Gianna’s search for her missing brother gives the story a stronger emotional foundation than many alien romance novels, while Kozien’s status as heir to a throne adds political tension and higher stakes.

Although some elements follow familiar genre patterns, the engaging main characters, steady pacing, and strong narration make this a very enjoyable listen. Fans of protective alien heroes, capable heroines, and romance set against a backdrop of interplanetary politics will likely find plenty to enjoy. I finished the audiobook interested in seeing where the Rogue Warriors of Lorr series goes next.
