Misdeeds of a Billionaire by Eva Winners
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
My one-night stand.
Misdeeds of a Billionaire
A ruthless bastard.
A heartless billionaire.
The man who ruled his empire with a cold head and an even colder heart. And most importantly, my son’s father. Except, he wasn’t aware of that little fact. To the media, Byron Ashford is a Billionaire King. To me, he’s a reminder of the hottest, most forbidden, night of my life. And my biggest mistake.
I hadn’t seen him in years, and hoped we’d never cross paths again.
But then, my best-laid plans always seem to go astray. Now, I need his help to bail me out of trouble. He’s a billionaire and I’m just a broke, debt-riddled surgeon.
Against my better judgment, I sought him out. It should have been easy, in and out. Except, nothing with Byron Ashford was ever easy. He refuses to hand out free favors. And the price for his help?
My freedom. Literally.
He wants to shackle me to him with a marriage I don’t want then throw away the key.
His demands are scandalous. His rules are dangerous for my heart.
It was supposed to be a mutually beneficial deal, but nothing about Byron is ever that simple. Once he slips the ring onto my finger, the rules change.
His demands grow. He no longer just wants to own my body. He also wants my heart and soul. But I’m not that young, naive woman anymore.
Too bad this billionaire forgot one thing. Nobody can own your heart unless you give it freely.
And this time, I’m not blinded by his smile and especially not by his lies.

🦸🏻♂️ The Hero: Byron Ashford
Byron Ashford is the kind of hero who wears his scars like armor. From the moment he meets Odette, he’s drawn to her youth and vitality, even as he tries to convince himself she’s off‑limits. Burned — literally and figuratively — by past relationships, Byron is weary of women who play games or ignore his rules. His last entanglement ended in betrayal and humiliation, leaving him with a dangerous sunburn that echoes the injuries he once endured as a Navy SEAL.
Now anchored on the French Riviera, Byron works alongside his brother from their opulent yacht, juggling Ashford business ventures that range from jewelry to security. Yet despite the wealth and glamour, he’s restless. His back injury keeps him from enjoying the pleasures of the sun, and his simmering frustration makes him a brooding figure — a man caught between power, pain, and the possibility of something real.
🦸🏼♀️ The Heroine: Odette Madeline Snow
Odette is introduced with a spark of innocence and ambition. A Stanford medical student on break, she lends her skills to her father’s hospital on the Riviera. When Byron storms into the emergency department, Odette is instantly captivated by his golden‑brown skin, commanding presence, and undeniable magnetism — even if he greets her with a grumpy edge. Later, fate throws them together again at a nightclub, where Odette’s curiosity and Byron’s intensity collide in a way neither can ignore.
📚 The Plot
The nightclub scene sets the stage for chaos and desire. Odette, frustrated by her cheating ex and her own romantic dry spell, jokingly tells her sister she needs a ménage à trois. Byron overhears — and, with his SEAL buddy by his side, sees an opportunity to fulfill her wish. But what begins as a provocative arrangement quickly shifts. Byron’s possessiveness and growing affection for Odette push him to claim her for himself, determined to erase her ex’s shadow and the idea of sharing her with anyone else.
🌟 What Worked
• The villainous twist of Byron’s father confronting Odette the morning after — deliciously dramatic.
• The surprise pregnancy trope, handled with an unexpected detour that kept me guessing.
• Byron’s unwavering devotion to Odette, spanning six years of separation, gave the romance a thread of loyalty and longing.
💔 What Fell Short
• The names “Odette” and “Byron” felt mismatched for a sweeping romance — they never quite sang, and the fact that he sometimes called her Odette and sometimes called her Madeline was just odd.
• The middle section dragged, losing momentum before the story reignited.
🎙️ Narration
The duet narration elevates the material. Brooke Daniels brings Odette to life with clarity and emotional shading, shifting seamlessly between characters. Aiden Snow, with his deep, velvety timbre, remains a standout — one of those rare narrators you could listen to endlessly. Together, they create a dynamic listening experience, with male and female voices perfectly balanced across perspectives.
💬 Final Thoughts
This audiobook offers a dark, seductive premise layered with betrayal, desire, and family conflict. The flashes of intensity are compelling, but the story sometimes rushes past its own shadows, leaving emotional depth unexplored. Thankfully, the narration adds richness and texture, ensuring that even when the plot falters, the listening experience remains engaging.
