The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌏
Character development: 😊😘😟
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine: Garnet – she works as a bartender at a local bar called the Drive-by Saloon. One of her regulars, an old guy she referred to as Grandpa, died and put her in his will. She would inherit 5 million dollars, but she had to meet the criteria of being over 25 and married within 30 days. So, she turned to craigslist since that worked to find her crappy apartment and her crummy job. Though she ended up with hundreds of replies from losers all over.
The Heroes: Nat – he was an accountant and often travelled for his job. He was quite a playboy and had a fear of commitment. He was referred to Garnet as a client who needed accounting help.
Linc – he owned a gym with his brother Jack. Linc is shy and not great with women. The gym was just around the corner from the Drive-by Saloon. He saved Garnet from a creepy guy from craigslist.
Win – he worked for old man Corey (otherwise known as Grandpa). He lived in the house over the garage and kept up the house and grounds of the estate.
Brose – he is best friends with Win. The two of them had dated the same woman together at the same time in the past.
The Story: This is a fairly short book (around 200 pages, only 4 ½ hours via audiobook), and I see some people complaining in their reviews about how quickly it gets to some of the steamy scenes, but really when the book isn’t long and there are 4 heroes, what else can you expect? Anyway, I went in expecting this one to be a bit on the smutty side and wasn’t disappointed. There was plenty of smutty goodness. The intimate scenes were fairly lengthy and there were plenty of them for how short this book was.
The world building wasn’t the greatest. I tend to like better descriptions of each of the main characters so I can picture them in my head. The descriptions were there, but not until over an hour into the audiobook and they still could have been better. The story had a good premise, though sometimes, it dragged a bit on unimportant details. Overall, though I did like all the characters and the premise of the book, I mean who wouldn’t like to get 5 million bucks out of nowhere.
This audiobook was told in multiple points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Greg Boudreaux and Jillian Macie. Greg is not one of my favorite male narrators, though he does a decent job. His voice just isn’t as deep as I like for romance, and he doesn’t do different voices for different people very well for this being a reverse harem. I could never tell which guy was talking. Jillian always does a great job and I really like her voice and she is great at showing emotion through her voice.
