Got Your Six by Giulia Lagomarsino
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Action, Adventure, and a good woman—that’s all I crave.
Got Your Six
A chance to prove my love for a woman by risking my life for her.
Everyone else gets to do it, so why not me?
Except, I never imagined she would vanish without a trace.
I thought she had been taken by a gang or a serial killer.
It turns out, she’s what they call a runner.
Yeah, you heard me right. She runs when people get too close to her.
And not because she has emotional baggage or something.
She doesn’t like people, which I don’t get.
I’m great people!
That night playing Battleship will go down in the books as one of the best nights of my life.
But apparently, I scared her off when I said I was coming back for her.
And then she landed herself in a Russian prison.
And of course, now she needs me to come to the rescue.
Yeah, I’ll do it. She’s my girl. Why wouldn’t I?
I just hoped she’d never see the one weapon I always deploy.
Tactical Vomit.
Scottie Dog and tactical vomit!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💚💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😔😃😂🥰
The heroine: Quinn – she is the quintessential push-over. She hates confrontation and has trouble saying no; it leads everyone in her life to take advantage of her. Even when she does say no, they all know that if they push her more, she can’t take the heat and eventually will cave. So, she has gotten into the habit of moving to a different state every time someone gets too pushy with her. Luckily, she is a geologist for the USGS, and her boss Gary is understanding. They have work sites all over the country and every time she calls him in the middle of the night needing to move, he is able to send her someplace else.
The Hero: Scottie Dog – he works for Owens Protective Services (OPS), based in Kansas. Their offices are located in a remodeled nuclear missile silo and most of the employees live at a mansion about a mile away. He is a former Navy pilot, though he hates flying and always gets nauseous on hand whenever he is called upon to pilot a plane. He calls it “Tactical Vomit” because if he is ever forced to pilot somewhere against his will, he is able to hurl on whomever he wants which causes enough chaos to give him time to get things under control.
The Story: Scottie is tasked with Flying a team out to California because Zoe has to work with some producers, and on the way back, Cash asks them to make a stop in Colorado to pick up a new team that will be working at OPS. While in Colorado, they all head into the bar near the airfield for a night out. That is where Scottie meets Quinn who is out with her roommate Zack. Quinn fits right in with the group, especially considering the crazy inane banter they are always engaging in. I loved the fact that she was able to step in and give as good as she gets with that crowd.
When the two main characters get back to Quinn’s place it is pretty funny. Quinn is ready for a hot one-night stand and Scottie really sees their relationship as having a future, so he wants to play the long game. He wants to have a nice date with her, but not just jump in and out of her bed. Scottie decides to play a game of battleship and Quinn can’t figure out what he is doing. When he finally explains what he is really doing, she is afraid that he just wants things on his terms and will start walking all over her like everyone else in her life. So, like always, she upped stakes and was off to a new place.
The books in this series get funnier and funnier in my opinion. I loved all the wild characters in the Reed Security series, but these guys are even wackier than the Reed guys. I first thought Fox was similar to Knight, and he is in ways, since he is very good at killing and he likes it. However, Knight is a badass assassin and though Fox is very good at killing, he is hilariously psychotic as well. He is a Knight fangirl. All these guys are just a bit over the top, but I am loving it. Scottie Dog has been one of my favorites ever since he first coined the term tactical vomit, the funny thing is that these guys are not only comical, but hot, muscular and tattooed. What more could you want?
