Review: Nanny for the Firemen by Cassie Cole. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nanny for the Firemen by Cassie Cole

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I finally landed a date with the swooniest, most gorgeous fireman in town.
But just when our date was going well, he got called back to the firehouse.
Turns out, a baby was left on the fire station doorstep.
And since they’re clueless about taking care of a baby, they recruit me to help.

Now I’m crashing at the firehouse with them.
Three hulking, chiseled heroes in suspenders.
And even though I came here to take care of the baby, they soon turn their sights on me…

I spend my days taking care of the baby,
And at night, the firemen take care of me.
Can we control the attraction spreading through the station like wildfire?
Or will our entire situation go up in smoke?

NANNY FOR THE FIREMEN is a scorching Reverse Harem love story filled with humor, emotion, and enough excitement to leave you sweaty and breathless. HEA guaranteed!

Nanny for the Firemen

A very non-traditional family!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💚❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍
Character development: 😔🤓🥰

The heroine: Clara – she worked for her parents’ pizza place all through high school, though she hated it. She didn’t like it any better after being away for four years at college, but after her dad died, she came home to help her mom out and a year later, she is still working at Tony’s Pizza. Her happy place is the fire station where they order delivery every Friday night. Clara has a bit of a crush on one of the firefighters, Jordan. Though all of them are a treat to look at.

The Heroes: Jordan, Derek & Taylor – California firemen at station 31 in Riverville.
Jordan – He is handsome and muscular with dark hair, a short beard and green eyes.
Derek – he is a captain on the Riverville fire station, since he is in charge, everyone calls him Chief. He is a quiet man, a bit of an introvert.
Taylor – he is a part-time probationary firefighter while he finishes college. He has blond hair and a strong body.

The Story: One Friday when Clara was delivering pizza to the firehouse, she chatted with the guys for a bit and Jordan finally asked her out since they both got off work at 9 pm. They have a fantastic date and a fun time seeing a rom-com with Emma Stone and Timothée Chalamet, though I can’t imagine those two having much on screen chemistry. Jordan and Clara are flirtatious and teasing and have terrific chemistry. When she asks Jordan why he finally asked her out, he tells her that the other two guys have big crushes on her as well and he wanted to do it before they did.

The date ends rather abruptly when Jordan gets a call from the firehouse that they need him to return. Clara is a bit disappointed but understands. It turns out that a baby was left at the station and the guys need to care for it, especially after finding out how backed up the social workers are and how there is a lull in baby adoption. The baby, Anthony, would most likely go to an overcrowded foster or group home.

The premise with regards to the baby is kind of weak, especially given the fact that I really doubt there is ever a lull in baby adoptions, with so many gay couples and couples that can’t have their own kids. Also, the fact that they can’t let the other shift of firemen find out they have the baby since one of them has it out for the captain’s job and wants nothing more than to catch him doing something wrong. However, I like the fact that Clara is supposed to stay there with the men and the baby. I kind of like forced proximity in a romance.
