Christmas season at a New York department store!
The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😟🤭😤😘
The heroine: Brianna – she is a saleswoman at Fulton’s, one of the largest department stores in New York. She got to leave early on Black Friday because she worked double shifts including Thanksgiving, missing dinner with her boyfriend Carl and his family. Though when she gets to the fancy apartment she shares with Carl, she finds he has kicked her out and her things are in garbage bags outside the apartment door, and he changed the locks. Not only that but when she tried to book a hotel room, she found her credit card rate had been reduced and she couldn’t afford a room.
The Heroes:
Thomas – he is from England and works as the manager of the Toy department at Fulton’s. He wants children but has yet to find the right woman.
Gabe – he is an Information Technology student at Columbia University who works as a night security guard for Fulton’s department store.
Victor – He works as a bartender at a bar he owns near Fulton’s department store. He also has a secret day job at Fulton’s.
The Story: Brianna couldn’t stay with friends because all of her friends were actually Carl’s friends, but one thing she did have was the key to Fulton’s department store, since she was supposed to open the store in the morning. She took her belongings and went to Fulton’s. The department store had an employee locker room which included showers and she was able to hide her belongings there, she just needed to find a good place to sleep.
There were a few secrets going on in this story, and though I guessed Victor’s secret very early on, I had no clue what Thomas was hiding, so I liked that. I had some guesses, but they turned out to be wrong. really enjoyed the story and how each of the three relationships grew slowly and naturally. Each one had their ups and downs and dealt with some problems but that made things interesting.
