The heroine: Holly Hennessey – she is a jewelry designer working in Indianapolis. She goes out to her friends matchmaking even at a local bar and while there, she stops off in the bathroom to take a pregnancy test. It turns out she is pregnant, and the only person she has been with in a long time was a one night stand she’d had while depressed and drunk and she doesn’t even remember what the guy looked like.
The Hero: Zane Alexander – he is a wealthy man who spent the best night of his life with a woman who ghosted him the next morning. When he couldn’t stop thinking about her, he decided to track her down and found her in a bar in Indianapolis.
The Story: Holly is basically knocked for a loop when she finds out she is pregnant and doesn’t quite know what to do. She then meets the handsome Zane who she blurts out everything to, including the fact that she had been depressed about her ex and now she has to go home to the Florida Keys for Christmas and will have to attend her exes engagement party while there. So Zane suggests she doesn’t go alone.
This was a fun little book and when I say little, it was only 152 pages, but seemed much shorter. I love the fake engagement trope and the surprise baby trope so this was great. Holly was adorable, and her family, especially her gran, was quirky and cute. Zane was a genuinely great guy who really liked everything about Holly and I thought it was funny how she thought he was too good for her but he just really wanted to be with her.
