Audiobook Review: Deathly Delinquency (Gang of Ghouls, #4). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Deathly Delinquency by Eva Chase

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When psychos fall…

A whole family of monsters has menaced my home for far too long. And in the battle to take them down, one of resurrected gangsters I love may have lost his life all over again.

Am I pissed off? Understatement of the century.

But my men have already survived one set of murders. I made it out of the looney bin and rescued my sister. We’ve proven we don’t back down… even when maybe we should.

The villains have way more people, more money and more power than we can wrap our heads around. But we’ve still got a few tricks up our sleeves. Can we expose them for what they are before they destroy more than we can ever fix?

Deathly Delinquency

Terrific ending to a very original series!

The heroine: Lily – she now has the memory of her past and she knows who was responsible for putting her in a psychiatric institution and keeping her there for seven years. They were also responsible for kidnapping her sister. She has supernatural powers of the marsh, she has an affinity toward frogs and power over water, or any liquid. She is able to create a wave and even has power over blood. She can stop someone’s heart.

The Heroes: Nox, Kai, Ruin, Jett – They were the four leaders of the Skullbreakers motorcycle gang and all four of them were murdered 21 years ago. They stayed in the town marsh for the entire time and saved Lily from drowning when she was little. Now they have returned from the dead by killing, then taking possession of 4 guys who bullied Lily. They have re-formed their gang and have supernatural powers.
Nox – he was and is the president of the Skullbreakers MC. He took over the body of a college professor and he has the supernatural power to punch people without even actually connecting with their body.
Kai – he is the genius of the gang and has the supernatural power of the mind. He is able to make people do things, like attack each other or kill themselves.
Ruin – he is an idealist and optimist and always looks on the bright side. He has power over electricity and is able to push his emotions on to people.
Jett – he is an artist and is introverted, he doesn’t speak unless he has something important to say. He has the power to change the shape or color of things.

The Story: it seems that every time our gang comes up against an opponent, it is worse than the last time. Just when they think they are about to be in the clear, another gang seems to come at them full force. The Skeleton Core gang seems to have an unlimited number of members and they are on the payroll of Lily and the guy’s main enemies, the wealthy and supernaturally powerful Guantt family and the more they learn about the past of this family, the worse it gets.

One thing I really liked about this whole series was the fact that there was much more action and romance than steamy times. Sometimes in reverse-harem romance there is such a priority on having so many intimate sessions between the heroine and each of the Heroes that there ends up being too many steamy scenes and not enough story, but I really liked the balance in this series. Don’t get me wrong, it was plenty steamy, just not enough to make it too smutty. Though I know some people like their reverse-harems smutty, I like them to be more story focused. Plus, the way the guys love and cherish Lily was terrific in this series.

This audiobook was told in multiple points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Hollie Jackson and Joe Arden. These two did a fantastic job on this entire series. Each of them has a bunch of different voices for different characters and both of them are very pleasant to listen to.
