Review: Alien Captain’s Prisoner (Captive Mates, #2). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Alien Captain’s Prisoner by Corin Cain

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Captured by seven-foot-tall aliens who deal with escape attempts… harshly

Tasha: I stole from the Aurelians. I thought I got away clean. Then I was taken captive by an alien captain with a deathwish and an obsession for me.

If he’s working for the Empire, I’m facing a hundred years in jail. If he’s Rogue?

Rogue Aurelians claim human women. When they smell the scent of a potential Fated Mate, they go mad with need. Any attempts to escape the spaceship will be dealt with the mercilessness of the species. Mercilessness that could trigger the fabled mating rage…

Captain Aleon.

Possessive. Dominant. Seven-feet-tall of chiseled perfection and pure, cocky arrogance.

He’s flanked by the two brutish men of his triad who live for blood and violence. I’m drawn to them, but I can sense the anger and pain deep in their souls.

I’m trapped on an alien warship with hundreds of the testosterone-fuelled warriors who haven’t seen a woman in years…

And there’s no way out.

Alien Captain’s Prisoner

Action and steam. Exactly what an alien romance should be!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💜💖
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 🤨😟😳😍

The heroine: Tasha – she is the captain of a small spaceship. She and her crew take on some legal and some not so legal jobs. Most recently they pulled off a heist of 26 Aurelian orbs. One orb can power a large spaceship and they are some of the most valuable things in the Galaxy. They are now on the run from an alien Toad species who knows of their heist and is trying to destroy them for the nearly indestructible orbs.

The Hero: Aelon – He is the captain of an Aurelian warship. They are independent contractors but follow Aurelian laws. Aurelians are seven feet tall, with white-marble skin, huge muscles, they weigh over 500 pounds, and they are dangerous. They know Tasha’s ship has the stolen orbs and they are determined to recover them. He has two other members of his triad aboard the ship, they are Vinicus and Iunia, both are as big as mountains and are fierce warriors against the Scorps and Toads who are their main foes.

The Story: Aelon’s warship is able to capture Tasha’s smaller ship and he knows immediately that Tasha might be the fated mate of his triad. He decides not to turn her and her crew into the Aurelian empire where they might get 40 years in prison. Instead, he wants to determine if she is their fated mate.

Since Aurelians are all born male, the only way they are created is as clones when one of them dies of natural causes. Though they live for thousands of years, and for every Aurelian that dies in battle, that is one less Aurelian that can be born. This is causing their numbers to dwindle and would have eventually been the cause of the extinction of their race. Though when it was found human women could be a fated mate to a triad and bear children, all Aurelians desired to find their mate.

The story is a decent one and the intimate scenes are steamy hot, not only due to the fact that the heroine is with a triad of alien men. It is also due to the fact that they are such huge men and all their proportions align, if you get my drift. They also like to spank their women. Though when they go against the empire by not turning Tasha and her crew in, some of the Aurelian crew decide that they have gone rogue and rogue Aurelians tend to use force when trying to find their fated mates. This causes strife within Aelon’s crew, especially when he has to punish some of them men for trying that. He still wants to have morals and honor even though they might not follow every Aurelian law.

There is a side storyline about the rest of Tasha’s crew and also about the Toad warriors who were first chasing Tasha’s ship when Aelon caught her and pulled her ship into his warship with a tractor beam. Aelon has a thing for killing the creepy Toads, so that is certainly an interesting storyline as well. Suffice it to say there is plenty of action interspersed with the steamy scenes to hold one’s interest in this book.
