Audiobook Review: Dr. Mitchell (Billionaire’s Club, #1). ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dr. Mitchell by Raylin Marks

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

BILLIONAIRES LIKE HIM HAVE A TYPE. AND IT’S NOT ME. . .

I’m not the kind of girl who has one-night stands. Except…I did.

What can I say? After a few drinks with a gorgeous man who made me feel alive for the first time since losing my mom, I was powerless to say no. And I didn’t regret it. Not one minute of our hot, mind-melting night together. But he wasn’t a forever kind of guy. So I walked away. I wasn’t supposed to ever see him again. Then I did.

Turns out my sexy one-night stand is Dr. Jacob Mitchell – and he’s the cardiothoracic surgeon who just saved my dad’s life.

The shocking part? He never forgot about me or a single minute of our night together. And he wants more. Actually, he wants it all.

But I’m no fool. And just because he handles hearts every day doesn’t mean I’m going to give him mine. Not without a fight, anyway. . .

Dr. Mitchell

Lots of steam, but a bit boring!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙💚💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗
World building: 🌏🌍🌎
Character development: 😟🙁☺️
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Ashley Taylor – While in San Francisco for the weekend, she made a fool of herself in a coffee shop and dumped her coffee all over a handsome stranger who was nice to her. Later that day at a hotel where her meetup with old friends was an epic fail, she meets the same guy again and almost decides to have a one night stand with him. However, when she attends her cousin’s wedding, she sees him again and goes through with what she almost had the night before.

The Hero: Dr. Jacob Mitchell – He is a billionaire and a highly respected cardiothoracic surgeon and chief of cardiology at his hospital. His family also funded the entire cardiac wing of the hospital. While in San Francisco for a medical conference, he meets a woman that he is very attracted to and ends up in bed with her. Once home, he can’t get her off his mind, though he never got her full name and can’t contact her.

The Story: Ashley’s dad has been feeling rundown lately so she encouraged him to go in and see a doctor. A year later Dr. Mitchell saved her father’s life and when Ashley arrives at the hospital to see her Dad, she recognizes Jacob as the man she had an incredible night with a year ago. Since that night, Ashley had started living again and focusing on her Artwork. Prior to that, she had been a bit stalled for a few years after her mother died of cancer. Now that her Dad is sick, she is very worried about him.

The story was plenty steamy and I liked the intimate scenes between the two main characters, though I found myself a bit bored with their relationship. Ash was so down much of the time, except when they were getting busy. She was depressed and feeling sorry for herself for losing her mom, and so worried about her dad. Though it got better as it went on. I guess I have just been finding myself bored with books the last few days, so it may have been more my mood than the story.

The audiobook was told in multiple points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Aiden Snow and Sarah Puckett. Aiden is one of my top favorite male narrators. He has a deep, sexy voice which is soft yet strong and so easy to listen to. Sarah has a nice voice but I don’t really like her narration style all that much, she just sounds a bit depressed for some reason.
