Arc Review: Slippery When Yeti (Monster Between the Sheets, Season 2) by Tana Stone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Slippery When Yeti: Monster Between the Sheets: Season 2 by Tana Stone

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Elena has never fit in. She grew up in Miami, but she hates hot weather. Everyone in her family is spontaneous, but she’s always been a planner. Luckily, her organizational skills make her ideal for the wedding planning job in Screaming Woods. Sure, the name of the town is a bit quirky, but as a wedding planner who specializes in theme weddings, Elena isn’t shocked by much. Until she’s lost in a freak snowstorm and rescued by a . . .

When Fynn was turned into a yeti in the accident that transformed his town and his friends, he abandoned civilized life. Living at the top of a nearby mountain means he stays cold and creates his ice sculpture art away from prying eyes. He’s perfectly happy being on his own—most of the time. But then he saves a pretty woman wandering in the snowstorm.

Now they’re stuck together in his mountain cabin until the storm passes and they can return to their normal lives. That is, if Fynn will let go of the woman he knows is meant to be his.

Slippery When Yeti is a short, steamy romance with an HEA and no cheating. If you like your heroes on the monstrous side with hearts of gold, you’ll love this book in the Monsters Between the Sheets series.

Who says monsters can’t fall in love? In Screaming Woods, anything is possible. Welcome back to the little town turned monstrous by a party potion gone wrong. Your favourite instalove authors are bringing you hairier, scarier, and hornier monsters than ever before in this beastly series coming to your kindle in May 2023.

The best is Yeti to come!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🤎🖤❤️💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 😍😚😉🙂🥰

The heroine: Elena – she is a wedding planner from Miami and she comes from a bit latino family, but she doesn’t fit in with her family or in Miami. She hates the heat and is more suited for the cold, so when an opportunity opens for a high paying job as an in-house wedding planner at a country club in a snowy mountain town called Screaming Woods, she jumps at the chance.

The Hero: Fynn – he is a yeti who hates being warm, due to his snowy white fur and lives at the top of a mountain overlooking the town of Screaming Woods. The town is different from all others, since so many monsters live in town. They used to be human, but there was an incident twenty years ago and many of the towns residents were changed forever. Since then, Fynn has become a recluse at the top of the mountain even though the townspeople, including newer residents all were well aware of the monsters in their midst.

The Story: Elena took the whole monster yeti reveal in stride, a bit too much in stride for my liking. She was surprised and fainted at first. After waking up and hearing Fynn talk and explain how he used to be a human but was turned into a monster, she just accepted the fact without even contemplating how crazy it all was.

I do totally believe the fact that a human female could fall in love with a ‘monster’ or an alien for that matter, since it would be easy to fall for any sentient being as long as you could easily communicate. Especially if you fell for their mind first. It would just take accepting your biological differences, which would be easier if you were already attracted to their mind. I especially can see the yeti thing, since some human men are extremely hairy and they find people who love them despite or because of it.

Elena became attracted to Flynn and got busy with him in short order without even taking time to wonder about how odd it was. I thought it was too quickly at first, It would have been all too fast if he had been a normal human man, but with his backstory it was even crazier. Though I have to admit some people are just very easygoing and not phased by things that other people might have trouble with.

I must say I did like the backstory and the fact that he was not the only one in town to be changed into a monster. I found myself wondering about the backstory more and how they got changed into the specific monsters they ended up as. I liked the fact that Elena never really fit in when she lived in Miami, and the fact that she seemed to run hotter than the normal human. She was in a snowstorm in a sleeveless dress and barely felt the cold.

Though, it was definitely an insta-love, which I am not that fond of, the story turned out to be better than I expected. After the two main characters initially hooked up, things slowed down from there and I really liked that. We got to see more of the quirky and whimsical town. it’s people and monsters and even some bigotry toward the monsters. And when the book is a short read, it is hard to make it anything other than insta-love.

I searched Goodreads for Monster Between the Sheets and saw that there are a bunch of books in this series, all insta-love stories written by different authors. Many of them featured some of the other monsters that appeared in this story, such as the orc, the minotaur and the gargoyle. I have to admit that I am a sucker for different types of monsters and aliens in romance. I do tend to picture them a little more human-like than some of the authors portray them.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
