Audiobook Review: Dragons Do It Dirtier (Dragon Shifters Do It, #1). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dragons Do It Dirtier by Gemma Cates

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A good girl looking to get a little dirty
Taylor
I’m on a quest to prevent my revirginization.

My dry spell has become a drought, and I’m this close to buying batteries in bulk at the wholesale store.

But fortune smiles upon my neglected lady parts when I meet a man who looks like a model for a gym commercial, acts like he might have a few manners, and kisses like he can’t get enough of me.

I wouldn’t have thought it would be all that hard to convince a horny hottie to have sex with me.

I would be wrong.

A playboy dragon determined to keep it in his pants
Bain
I’m not looking for a mate.
Not now.
Maybe never.

But sex? Yes, and often.

Until I meet little blonde Taylor with the perfect pink lips, the lushest peach of an ass, and a taste for my whiskey.

I want her but I can’t have her, because she’s a good girl.

She deserves more than a fling with a dirty dragon.
She deserves forever, and I can’t give her that.

Romance: 💙💚💜❤️

Narration Type: Dual Narration

The Hero: Bain – Dragon kind was cursed thousands of years ago. They could no longer have female children. So male dragons had to look elsewhere for mates. As civilizations grew and the earth became more populated by humans, the only dragons that survived were those capable of cloaking themselves and living among the humans. Bain had once fallen for a woman he mistakenly believed to be his fated mate and losing her had devastated him. He was determined not to fall in love again.

The heroine: Taylor – She had caught her fiancée in flagrante and is not ready to date another cheating man. Lately she has been having erotic dreams and her dream lover has been leaving her wanting more. So she goes out planning to end her dry spell and hook up with a man. She called it her “revirginization prevention project”. She picks a local dive bar called Derek’s since her usual places where she went to happy hour drinks and tapas were not working for her.

The Story: Bain sees Taylor going into the bar and is immediately attracted to her. Though he is there looking for a quick and dirty hook up. He thinks she looks too much like a nice girl and that was not what he was looking for. However, when another man gropes her, he steps in and rescues her, then decides to watch over her for the night. Though when it comes time to leave and things start heating up, Bain actually leaves.

So Taylor takes it upon herself to try again with some changes, hoping to meet a better candidate for her revirginization prevention project. She comes up with a sex plan but is afraid it will be hard to find someone who would compare to Bain, but allows herself to go to someplace familiar and goes back to Derek’s bar a few times for just a drink hoping to get braver with each try. She found that she really liked the whiskey they served her called McBains. Especially after finding out that her near hook-up was the man that owned the distillery.

This book was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Meg Price and Oliver Clarke. Oliver has a nice deep gravelly voice which was sexy and perfect for the mountain of a man that Bain was described as. Meg price has a clear and pleasant voice which matched Taylor as well. Overall the narration was great.

This book was a bit different than what I am used to in that there were chapters where one of the two main characters would describe a scene in their point of view and the next chapter would be the same scene from the other main characters point of view. I kind of liked though luckily it wasn’t every few chapters because then it could become repetitive.

The story was good and there was more than just relationship centric. I don’t want to go into the plot much but there was a villain in the story. There was a ton of chemistry between Bain and Taylor from the start and some good supporting characters though the story didn’t delve very deep into most of the other characters. Though I did like the magic, I just wish this was a longer book.
