Audiobook Review: Death Adder (Naga Brides, #4). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Death Adder by Naomi Lucas

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Females have returned to Earth, brought here by technology I do not trust. They’ve been claimed and nested and kept far from me.

The broken one. The dark one.

I will always be alone.

When a ship lands in my territory and a black-suited human female appears, I am in awe. I am in NEED.

Only, she is surrounded by men.

So, I will sneak up on her.

I will stalk her, learn everything about her, and wait for the right moment.

And when the time comes, I’ll set my trap.

She will be caught.

Then she will be claimed.

By no one else but ME.

Romance: 💙🤎🖤💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😠😘🤓😍
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Celeste – she is the leader of a mission to a post apocalyptic Earth to find out what happened on a lost mission that never made it off of Earth. They were on Earth to find the enemy technology in order to find a way to fight the Kets who have been waging war for years.

The Hero: Zhallaix – he is a Naga of the Death Adder variety and he is feared by many of the other species of Naga. He is fierce and scarred and wears a necklace of bones. He knows that some of the other Naga on Earth have mated with human females and he wants one of his own. When he first sees Celeste, he wants her.

The Story: Celeste is aware that the mission led by Peter might have failed partly due to the fact that Peter had exchanged the women on his mission to the Naga for technology. One of those he traded was his pilot and when the rest of the crew tried to leave the planet, the ship crashed, probably due to the lack of an experienced pilot. She sees a Naga soon after landing but tries to stay clear.

When Zalliax attempts to speak to Celeste and her crew, they are wary and her crew ends up firing on him without orders to do so. He fights back and tries to take Celeste hostage. She fights back, stabbing him in the chest and they think he has died.

I like the back story about Zhalliax, we saw him in previous books as hard and feral, but he sees himself as honorable. He has spent his life tracking down and killing others of his kind who were not honorable. This entire series has been very good, much better than I thought it would be. The stories are interesting and original.

“Zhalliax, do you know what love is?”
“It’s a feeling of great adoration.”

This book was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Elizabeth Hart and John Masterson. Elizabeth has a clear and loud voice, she is not one of my favorite narrators, but she is pretty good. John has a great voice for this type of book, I like his cadence and tempo.
