I know the mate bond can never happen for me. But that doesn’t stop my heart from wanting Druxik…
Damaged
When King Khrelan gets word of a group of human women held captive on a trading planet, he decides to send a team to rescue them—led by the hotshot pilot, Druxik.
I’ve never considered myself particularly brave or daring, so I’m as surprised as anyone when I find myself volunteering to join the warriors on their mission.
As frightening as it is to be heading to a dangerous black-market planet, it gives me a sense of purpose. But with our close proximity aboard the ship, it also becomes harder and harder to deny my attraction to Druxik.
I know it can’t be the mate bond. And I know letting myself fall for him will only end in a broken heart.
But when disaster strikes, everything changes in the blink of an eye.
Mate bond or no, Druxik needs me, and I’ll do everything I can to help him.
A heroes mission!

Narration Type: Dual Narration
Cora and Druxik – Cora had some medical issues in her past and can’t get pregnant so she knows that she will never have a mate bond with a Kalixian like some of the other women who were rescued with her and brought to Kalix. When the Prince gets word that more women from Earth were found and are slated to be sold on the black market, Cora volunteers to go on the mission to save them.
Druxik is a skilled warrior and a pilot with Alpha Force and he volunteers to be in charge of the mission to rescue the human women. He has never truly considered the possibility of having a mate. He has availed himself of plenty of female companionship off world. He has always strived to be the best in all things and is honored to serve in this capacity for his people and the Terran women. He sees it as a Hero’s mission.
Like the previous books this one was told in dual points of view via dual narration. Narration was done by C.J. Grey and Meg Price. They both do a good job and I have gotten used to them throughout this series and have liked them more and more as the series continues.
The last few books in this series has had some very good stories and have really liked the fact that each one is different and has a different setting and journey, the couple facing different dangers and challenges. This one was every bit as good as many of the others and I liked Cora’s spunk. She and Druxik had immediate chemistry and both had issues to overcome. This one was a bit too steamy for my tastes, these two spent a lot of time in bed, I ended up fast forwarding a few full chapters because I had enough.
