Her Elemental Dragons: The Complete Series by Elizabeth Briggs

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Four sexy dragon shifters. A huntress with a dark past. A bond that could save the world.

I’ve spent my entire life running from my past and staying out of trouble. That’s how I’ve kept alive ever since my parents were killed by the Black Dragon, who’s ruled the world under her oppressive talons for as long as anyone can remember.

But it’s hard to keep a low profile when four handsome strangers turn up in your village claiming you’re destined to save the world. According to them, they’ve been chosen by the gods to become elemental dragons—and I’m their fated mate.

Which means one day I’ll be the most powerful dragon of all, able to control all four elements. Assuming I can unlock my powers first…by getting intimate with each of my sexy mates.

Auric, the clever prince. Jasin, the cocky soldier. Slade, the protective blacksmith. Reven, the mysterious assassin. And me. We’re the only ones who can bring balance to the world and overthrow the Black Dragon—if she doesn’t tear us to shreds first.

But as we continue our journey, secrets are uncovered about my mates that make me question everything, even as things heat up between us. Yet the greatest secret of all lies in my own past—and it might destroy us completely.

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️💜

Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Kira – her parents were killed by the Black Dragon, a queen that has ruled the world for 630 years. While out hunting, Kira comes across an old woman who gives her a cryptic prophecy about a coming storm that Kira will be unable to escape. A few minutes later she was hit directly by lightning and didn’t die. She lived with her best friend Tasha and Tasha’s father who beat Tasha every time Kira came home without some food.

The Heroes: Auric, Jasin, Slade & Reven – Jasin was a soldier of the onyx army and was given powers by the fire god and is a fire realm elemental and the crimson dragon. Auric is a nobleman and was given powers from the air god and is the gold dragon, Slade was a blacksmith and was given powers from the earth god, he is the jade dragon. Reven was an assassin and was given powers by the water god and is the Azure dragon.

The Story: When Kira meets Jasin, he told her that he was told he would one day become the fire dragon, after they bonded with each other. At that time he would be able to change into a dragon at will and she will then have the element of fire as well and that she would one day become the black dragon. Soon after, the other three guys arrive and tell her they are meant to overthrow the Black dragon and her elementals.

They tell her that they have to travel to each of the god’s temples where they have to intimately bond with with Kira in order to become the dragon for that god and Kira will gain the element as well. Once they are all bonded, Kira will become the black dragon and they should be ready to take on the current black dragon.

The book was told in multiple points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter. I have listened to Stephen Dexter many times before and he is quite good. He is able to do different voices for different characters and I like his voice and cadence very much. I don’t know that I have heard Lia Langola before but she does a good job on both male and female voices.

I like these kind of fantasy books where the characters are on a journey and end up facing a bunch of different perils and meeting various people along the way. This one was good and quite steamy, but there was still more story than smut. I liked the reverse harem aspect and the fact that the characters got to know each other well as they journeyed to the temple of each of the gods in order for each of the men to bond with Kira.
