Will he betray or save the world’s only unicorn?
Capturing a Unicorn
A novelist and journalistic investigator, Oliver is on a mission to expose the secrets of a clinic that dared to perform illegal experiments on humans. Against all laws and morals, there are doctors making monsters, and it has to stop. Humanity itself is at stake, which is why he must destroy the knowledge of their creation and eliminate any living threats.
. . . . .
Then Oliver meets Emma, a former patient, living within the ruins of the clinic. She’s sweet and gentle, pretty, too—despite the horn projecting from her forehead.
It seems Oliver has found one of the monsters, and she’s like nothing he imagined. Will he go through with his plan to eradicate those changed by Chimera’s secret, or save Emma for love
A fitting end!

The heroine: Emma – she considers the destroyed Chimaeran clinic in the Rocky Mountains as her home, so she returns there, where she was comfortable. She knows she can’t go into society as she is the only living unicorn. She has a horn coming out of her head resulting from the experiments Dr. Chimera performed on her which saved her life from the breast cancer that was ravaging her body. She was grateful to the doctor for saving her life.
The Hero: Oliver – an investigative journalist and novelist that is set to expose the new pharma company that has taken over for the Chimaeran clinics in experimenting on human genetics and creating monsters. He wants it all to stop and is determined to remove the monsters from existence. He was hired by the company to show things in a good light but that isn’t what he has planned.
The Story: Emma never wanted to leave the clinic, she was safe there, had a place to live, three meals a day and she was happy. She came from an abusive background, had abusive boyfriends, and she was saved from all that by Dr. Chimera, so when she was drugged and evacuated on a helicopter on the night the clinic was invaded, she was afraid. Especially as there were other patients on the helicopter who weren’t as nice as her, guards and Dr. Sphinx was there. Emma found out that the Doctor had been raping her when she was unconscious right before the helicopter crashed, killing him and some of the others.
Oliver is determined to find the truth about the Chimaeran clinic and goes to the destroyed clinic in the Rockies to find out if there is anything left. After trekking up to the site of the clinic, Oliver sees a girl in the woods with a horn.
Like the rest of the books in this series, this one was told in multiple points of view via solo narration. Narrated by Troy Duran, who is one of my favorites. He has a deep and sexy voice and is terrific at doing different voices for different characters. He did a fantastic job with this entire series and I didn’t even care that it was solo narration.
