Lady Luck by K.C. Cross
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Luck knew two things when he left Harem Station months ago.
One. The silver-haired Cygnian Princess Nyleena was still safely frozen away in her cryopod.
…
And two. There was a good chance she was his soul mate.
…
He left anyway.
…
Nyleena is what you might call feisty. Or sassy. Or maybe just… feral. She is wild. Much too wild for Luck’s taste. But now that he’s home there’s no way to deny it.
…
Like it or not, she is his.
…
Lucky for him, all Cygnian Princesses have one true weakness. They cannot resist cooking up crazy plans to tackle unsolvable problems. And he’s going to use that irresistible urge to tame her savage spirit.
…
Nyleena has plans of her own and none of them involve Luck. She is out for blood. All the people who made her life hell will be dealt with, and she’s going to find every single one of them and take them out.
…
Right after she solves this one last unsolvable problem… how not to fall in love with your soul mate.
Lady Luck
The awesome world of Harem Station!

The heroine: Nyleena – a silver Cygnian Princess, who is a literal bomb, created to take out planets. Her and all the silver and pink Cygnian Princesses were genetically altered to blow up under certain conditions. Her fated mate is Luck, whom she hates.
The Hero: Luck – Luck is an Akeelian male which means he has purple eyes and not one, but two huge, fat, f’ing spectacular parts of his anatomy that women seem to really love. He and his seven friends escaped when they were young and ended up on Harem Station which was abandoned and run by an A.I. called ALCOR.
The Story: Luck and Nyleena know they are fated mates, but they hate each other. Both of them think they hate each other because the other is mean. However, they rub each other the wrong way whenever they are together and so end up being mean to each other. However, because they are mates and are utterly attracted to each other and can’t stop thinking about each other unless they hook up at least once a day, so they have regularly scheduled daily meetings meet their needs.
Nyleena is unbelievably bored on Harem Station and is a bit crazy. She does zany things which break the laws of Harem Station and get her into trouble out of boredom. Luck is tasked with getting her to calm down a bit. He knows that Cygnian Princesses are schemers and can’t resist a challenge so he subversively challenges her to get a job. She decides she wants her own sentient ship and wants to go out into the world on her own.
These Harem Station alien romance books are so good. They have complex plots and must be read in order. They also have some terrific aliens, technology and are super steamy. There are things like auto shoppers, auto cookers, bots that do all kinds of things around the station, spin nodes and more. Not only do the Akeelian males have an amazing anatomy, but the Cygnian Princesses have this luminous flux that builds up and bursts free, lighting them up when they orgasm.
In this book Nyleena is scheming to get her own ship and to do that she has to get some information for someone. She finds that to get that information, she has to do a favor for someone else, and to do that she has to do a favor for another person and so on. Pretty soon she is scheming to do all these favors in order to eventually get what she wants. There are so many great secondary characters in this and some plots that go from one book to the next.
This book is told in alternating points of view in dual narration by Jacob Morgan and Emma Wilder. In dual narration, a male narrator reads the chapters written from the male perspective and does all the voices in those chapters (both male and female), and vice versa. I like Duet narration bette where the male does all the male parts and female does the female parts. Though I was happy with this.
The one thing I didn’t really like about this book was that it was quite a while ago that I read the last book in this series and I was lost more than once. I didn’t remember anything about the Succubus A.I. which is mentioned more than once, what happened with Vaila, the difference between the real ALCOR and the A-hole ALCOR who is in the pleasure prison and a few other things. Like why these seven friends and their women are all hiding things from each other.
