Audiobook Review: Reapers Fire (Reapers MC, #6). ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reaper’s Fire by Joanna Wylde

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

It’s time for more men and motorcycles in the latest from the New York Times bestselling author of Reaper’s Fall

The club comes first.

I’ve lived by those words my whole life—assumed I’d die by them, too, and I never had a problem with that. My Reaper brothers took my back and I took theirs and it was enough. Then I met her. Tinker Garrett. She’s beautiful, she’s loyal, and she works so damned hard it scares me sometimes . . . She deserves a good man—one better than me. I can’t take her yet because the club still needs me. There’s another woman, another job, another fight just ahead.

Now she’ll learn I’ve been lying to her all along. None of it’s real. Not my name, not my job, not even the clothes I wear. She thinks I’m nice. She pretends we’re just friends, that I’ve still got a soul . . . Mine’s been dead for years. Now I’m on fire for this woman, and a man can only burn for so long before he destroys everything around him.

I’m coming for you, Tinker.

Soon.

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧
Romance: 💙💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😳🤬😏🙃

The heroine: Tinker – in the process of divorcing her husband who cared more about his work than he did her. She recently moved to her home town after her mother died and father started going downhill fast. She is now managing the apartment building her family owned, running the tea shop her mother owned and running her own gourmet chocolate company.

The Hero(s): Gage – longtime member of the Reapers motorcycle club, Gage is undercover as a man named Cooper and gets a job as a handyman at the apartment building Tinker owns. He is trying to infiltrate the local MC that owes the Reapers money and haven’t been paying up. He plans to infiltrate by dating Talia, the sister of one of the club members.

The Story: Tinker is going through a rough time when Gage comes around. She appreciates his hotness but knows that he is dating someone else. The girl he is dating is younger, thinner and a bit scary so she knows she has no chance. Little does she know, Gage is so much more attracted to Tinker than to the woman he is supposed to be seeing. But he needs information for his club, and can’t give up his cover while he is still investigating this club.

I have liked this series in the past and this book had a very original story for an MC romance. I also love the MC romance where the heroine isn’t already in the MC life. Though I like younger heroines. Tinker is 40 and the town thinks she is a cradle robber because of a drunken weekend with her gals when she was caught in the intimate moment with a much younger man.

Another thing I didn’t like about this one was the fact that the Hero spends more time knocking boots with the girl he is fake dating and hates, than the woman he is crushing on. But overall, the story is good so I did enjoy the book and the narration was good as well. Sean Crisden and Tatiana Sokolov did a great job and I love it when an audiobook has dual narration.
