Not the standard reverse harem!
The following ratings are out of 5:
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌏
Character development: 😳🤬😏🤓😎
The heroine: Madison Kate Danvers – Her mother was murdered when she was 11 years old. Prior to the murder, her mother was stalked. MK is now being stalked and she thinks it is the same person that stalked her mom is after her.
The Hero(es): Archer D’Ath (a.k.a. blue eyes) – an MMA fighter with secrets.
Max Steele (a.k.a. grey eyes) – a nice guy that isn’t always so nice.
Kodiak “Kody” James (a.k.a. green eyes) – he is the first one to make a joke or comfort MK but he has lied to her as well.
The Story: Madison Kate is constantly under fire, from a stalker, a killer and the three guys she has become close to but has never trusted. Some of the secrets are revealed but what she finds makes her life even more complicated than it was before and she no longer trusts the guys.
This reverse harem is a bit different than many in that the heroine is intimate with two of the guys but has a hugely contentious relationship with the third Hero. Though that is not to say there isn’t a ton of chemistry between Archer and Madison Kate.
The narration by Brook Daniels and Lucas Webley was fabulous. One of the main issues I have with audiobooks that have male and female narrators, is the fact that if a chapter is told in the female POV the female narrator does both the male and female voices during that chapter and the same for the male narrator. This one was done more like acting, where within one chapter we get both male and female narration, so there isn’t a man trying to do a woman’s voice and the like.
The storylines were terrific and I was kept on my toes throughout the entire series so far. Nothing at all is predictable and I really like the different story arcs. There is romance, steam, mystery, suspense and more. If I had one criticism it is that Madison Kate is a nice person but she is quite mean to Archer. She had her reasons in the beginning and granted he was never nice to her. However someone has to be the bigger person at some point and their animosity went on a bit too long.
