Audiobook Review: Opal (Lux, #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

No one is like Daemon Black.

👽

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well… There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

💥

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

🤷🏻‍♀️

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

💫

Together we’re stronger… and they know it.

Opal

What a crazy ride!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧
Romance: 💋💋💋💋💋
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📒
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 👩🏻🧑🏼‍🦱👩🏻‍🦱👱🏻‍♂️👱🏻‍♀️

The heroine: Katy – she was betrayed more than once and was taken and held in a cage, and her voice is changed because screamed in pain so long her voice box was damaged.

The Hero(es): Daemon – He was able to get Katy out though they are still in danger from the Department of Defense and Daedalus (the secret organization that is trying to use the humans that were mutated when they were healed by a Luxen.

The Story: Daemon and Dee’s brother Dawson has returned. Katy and Daemon think that he was returned for a reason. They don’t know what plans Daedalus and the DOD have for them. Dawson needs to get his girlfriend Bethany back and Dee is hurting because her boyfriend Adam was killed. Everything seems up in the air.

“One of the things I love about you is how protective you are, but it also drives me crazy. You can’t protect me forever.”

“Oh, I could so do that.”

This book has more action, more suspense and more thrills than the first two. There are so many forces against Katy, Daemon and their group of friends and family. It sometimes seems like there is no way for them to ever live a normal life. The book has an exiting and suspenseful cliffhanger ending and I can’t wait to read more.
