Audiobook Review: His Alone (For Her, #2). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

His Alone by Alexa Riley

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ryan Justice may be her boss, but nothing will stop him from making her his. New York Times and number-one ebook best-selling author Alexa Riley entices with a brand-new full-length novel.

🤍

She thinks I’m perfect. A good boss, a good man. She thinks that I play by the rules.

🤍

She has no idea who I truly am. Why I’m really here.

🤍

Paige Turner is trying to outrun her past, but there it is, tossed back in her face anytime she manages to get two steps ahead.

🤍

She has no idea what a man like me will do to get what he wants.

🤍

Her need for Ryan got in the way of revenge, took her off course. Redirected her focus. Before she knew it, he’d made his way into her life. Into her heart.

🤍

I’m dirtier than she knows. She thinks I’m good to the core, but she doesn’t know the things I’ve done. The things I would do for her.

🤍

True love doesn’t let secrets as big as these stay buried. And when the truth about Paige’s father is finally exposed, Ryan will do anything to fix everything. Paige has always been his – and his alone.

His Alone

Oh Captain!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧
Romance: 🖤💜🤎💚💛
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📘
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌍🌍
Character development: 😍😕🙃☺️

The heroine: Paige Turner – graduated from Yale, best friend to Mallory and half-sister to Oz (Miles Osbourne) from the previous book. She hooked up with her brother for a shared objective of Revenge on their father. Though Oz is done with it after ruining his father’s business. Paige is not done, because she saw her father kill her mother among other things and she knows that those businesses were only the legit ones, not all of her fathers’ businesses

The Hero(es): Ryan Justice (a.k.a. Captain) – he is the head of security at Osborne and he is Paige’s boss as well. He tells Paige that he fell in love with her the first time he saw her. Though he has secrets and possibly an agenda.

The story: Captain has had feelings for Paige for quite a while. She has been holding him at arms length like she does with all men. Though she is attracted to Ryan she sees him as “Captain America”, such a clean cut hero type and all around good guy. Paige thinks she is not good enough for Ryan because of the way she grew up.

The love story is scorchingly hot. I liked the back story as well and how Captain is seen as such a good guy when he is holding on to some deep secrets. Captain is a big guy with an all American look, he got tattoo’s to make him look a bit more edgy. Turns out he was a bit of a stalker like Miles in book one.
