Alter Ego: An Alex Drake Novel by Lexxi James

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Every billionaire has a dark side.

Alex Drake has everything.

Money. Power. A dangerous dark side that shouldn’t be played with.

But when one woman wants all of him, and another only wants to protect him, how far will one man go to teach each of them …

His game. His rules.

Alter Ego is the prequel to The Alex Drake Series.

Lexxi James Books are seductive, suspenseful romances filled with fun, sensual, and sizzling high-heat love scenes.

Alex before Madison!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: N/A
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 👨🏻👱🏻‍♀️🧔🏻👩🏻👱🏼‍♂️

The heroine: Charity – she was a prostitute who was told by her cruel John to get in with Alex Drake for nefarious purposes.

The Hero(es): Alex Drake – the billionaire owner and CEO of DGI (Drake Global Industries). He is often under attack by rivals and came up with a plan to draw them out and find out early what they plan to do.

The Story: This book takes place prior to Alex meeting his soul mate, Madison Taylor. Alex is quite the player, he is with different women all the time and never more than once. He and his right hand man, Paco meet Charity when she comes to them with the truth about what she was supposed to do and they end up putting her on staff in a non-standard capacity.

This book was great. It was intelligent, witty and had me laughing out loud at times. The storyline was interesting and kept me on my toes. I love the characters and really liked Charity as well even though she and Alex had a purely platonic relationship. I couldn’t help but even like Natasha, the scheming socialite.

Like most men, Alex Drake had his habits. He regularly ordered a late dinner on Friday nights. Always to his office. The very same boring meal each and every time.
A Big Mac. No side. Apple pie. No drink.
What kind of psycho doesn’t order fries?

I often dislike it when reading a prequel after I have started a series, but I truly enjoyed this book and it left me wanting to not only re-read the entire Alex Drake series but everything Lexxi James has written that I haven’t yet read. Kudos to you for this one Lexxi!
