Hunting Gorgeous: A Romantic Suspense. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hunting Gorgeous: A Romantic Suspense by B. B. Hamel

My rating: 5 of 5 stars.

My name is Nick Splitter, and I hunt serial killers.

That’s my whole life, at least until I meet Rose, and she changes everything.

She caught the eye of a notorious psychopath, and if I can’t catch him in time, then she’ll be the next victim.

I’m an FBI agent. I’m supposed to be buttoned up, and I’m supposed to follow the rules. For a long time, the only thing I cared about was the hunt.

Rose makes me want to strip down and go rogue with her.

We both have a dark past, smeared in blood and tragedy. But I’m not about to let her get hurt.

I’ll do what it takes to catch the killer.

Then I’ll make sure Rose doesn’t get away

BB’s Best Story yet!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💜💛💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌍
Character development: 👤👤👤👤👤

The setting: Foylestown

The Hero(s): Nick Splitter – works for the FBI “Hunters”, a division that hunts serial killers. Nick didn’t get recruited the traditional route, via law enforcement, he was recruited because he caught a serial killer while working for a detective. He is good at his job, but isn’t your traditional buttoned up FBI agent.

The heroine: Rose – a serial killer (CGK-Cam Girl Killer) murdered her sister Delia, who as the fourth victim year ago. Since then, CGK has murdered 5 more girls and has threatened Rose despite the fact that it doesn’t fit the profile as Rose isn’t a Cam Girl.

The Love Story: Nick wants to move in with Rose and use her as bait for the killer so Rose doesn’t have to look over her shoulder the rest of her life wondering if he has caught up with her.

I usually pass over the books where the blurb talks about the Hero or heroine being law enforcement. I am not sure why since I do like romantic suspense and I love the hunt for a serial killer. Though maybe it is due to some inner feelings about law enforcement officials, I don’t know. Either way, I knew that BB Hamel always has great stories with plenty of romance and steam as well. So I thought I would give this a try.

I liked the fact that right off the bat, Nick reminded me of Sam and Dean on Supernatural when they faked at being FBI agents. Especially when I heard that his name was Nick Splitter and his parter’s was Cal Dam. I mean those last names sound totally fake right? Sure they aren’t the names of 80’s rockstars, but still…

Nick has something in his past which makes him a bit singleminded about what he does and he is a bit like Adrian Monk if you ever saw that show in that he notices things that other people miss and finds clues that other agents would never think of. Rose is dealing with the loss of her sister in addition to the fact that a serial killer wants her. Though she isn’t weak, she learns to shoot and goes off alone far more than Nick would like.

I enjoyed the romance. Nick was living with Rose, but as an FBI agent, so they weren’t too quick to act on their feelings, but when they did it was pretty steamy. I ended up really liking the serial killer storyline and I am finding myself glad that this is the first book in a series of stand-alone books about the Hunters (sort of like the team from Criminal Minds). I am looking forward to reading the rest and am glad that BB Hamel is quick with her writing.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
