The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💜💛🖤
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📔📙
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌎
Character development: 👤👤👤👤👤
The setting: Chicago
The Hero: Clark – Recently moved in upstairs from Lizzy and Charlotte who both work at the local coffee shop and attend college. Clark is always watching Lizzy and showing up where she is.
The heroine: Lizzy – only months apart in age and brought up together by single mothers, Lizzy and Jack were best friends. Jack is kidnapped by serial killer Willis Langford (his father) when they are eight years old. However, Lizzy still relives the trauma in nightmares and anxiety and Willis Langford was never caught.
The Love Story: Lizzy has been having fantasies about the new neighbor upstairs and when he seeks her out they find they are attracted to each other and share a connection.

I loved the darkness, mystery, and suspense that this book contained. It was pretty romantic, but also somewhat scary and a bit crazy too. I also loved the supporting characters. Charlotte was a hoot, especially in dealings between her and Lizzy’s friend Steven.
I like serial killer books when they are mixed with romance because you just never know who is a good guy and who is a bad guy (or girl). This book was romantic, steamy and quite unpredictable. I loved every minute of it. I wished it were longer!
