Wrecked (Fractured Magic). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wrecked by Franca Storm

My rating: 4 of 5 stars.

She’s supposed to be a mission—just the next sacrificial lamb in his century-long quest to rid himself of his duty. But when love takes hold, things are never simple….

All-powerful warlock, Finn Holt, is determined to succeed this time with the fifth Fated—the girl chosen to power his world and open the gate back home. After a century of failure, he believes River is finally one strong enough to allow him to fulfil his duty of being her magical guardian—her Guard. But the price could be her life.

And, this time, everything is different. For one thing, her power is immeasurable. The most shocking thing of all, though? She’s under his skin. Tattooed bad boy, Finn, is as much a master of Light/Dark magic as he is of maintaining control in all situations, but as much as he tries to shake his growing feelings and desire for River, it proves impossible. Some inexplicable force won’t allow it. But is Finn prepared to give up the freedom he’s wanted for so long, for a love he never saw coming?

River Slater is sick of wasting away her life in a boring, dead-end town. The moment Finn walks into her grandmother’s occult store, all that changes. Before she knows it, she’s caught up in a world she’d never believed existed: a world of magic and danger. But, most of all, she’s caught up in Finn. Her attraction to him is unlike anything she’s ever felt for any man before. Intense. Passionate. Overwhelming. But she quickly learns that there’s more to Finn’s intentions than meets the eye. Can she truly trust him, or will the man who’s stolen her heart, end up betraying her in the most tragic way?

Enter a world of magic, danger and sorcery in this warlock romance, complete with magically tattooed heroes, a vampire who is much more than what he seems and a strong-willed sorceress.

Nice magical fantasy romance

I liked this book. It was a bit steamier than many of the fantasy romance books I have read before. Generally only vampires and shifter romances have this much action. There was a vampire named Vincent in this book, but he wasn’t one of the two main characters. I wouldn’t mind reading his story next. He was pretty hot.

The main characters in this story are River, a young woman who works on her Grandmother’s occult shop, but doesn’t believe in magic, and Finn Holt who is a Warlock prince from another dimension who needs Rivers magic to power his world and open a portal to return. The last four girls he tried to do this with died in the process, and he falls in love with River so has mixed feelings about what to do.

“Here, let’s get rid of that.” I called my power to me—Light magic only—and pressed my glowing palm to her forehead. With Light magic, everything had to be balanced, so I couldn’t just erase the pain from existence. I had to transfer it somewhere. So, I pulled it into me. “Jesus fucking Christ!” I hissed. That’s what women went through in childbirth?

Finn also has an evil father in the mix and a brother that really wants to go home also. Very good story and I liked the romance. I want more Vincent though.
