Ruthless Empire by Rina Kent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars.
She’s off limits. He has none.
There’s a girl.
Beautiful. Popular. Fake.
And my obsession.
My fall.
Probably my damnation.
Did that stop me? Do I care? No and no.
There’s a line between right and wrong. Moral and immoral.
And then there’s her.
I cross every limit with blood-coated fingers.
She says she hates me.
I say I hate her too as I trap her, own her.
Make her all mine.
Ruthless Empire is part of Royal Elite Series, but could be read on its own. For better understanding of the world, you might want to read the previous books first. This is a mature new adult and contains situations that some readers can find offensive.
Ruthless Empire
Cole was so dark and twisty!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚💙💜❤️🖤
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📘📗📕📙📓
World building: 🌏🌎🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 👤👤👤👤👤
The setting: Royal Elite School
The Hero: Cole – He and two friends were kidnapped when they were eight and it changed him. He is one of the four horsemen at Royal Elite and is called Famine because he is silent and deadly on the field.
The heroine: Silver –Neighbor to Cole and the horsemen, also used to be friends with Kim. She was cruel to both Kim and Elsa in the first few books in this series and is known as the Queen B of Royal elite.

Every time I read a book from Rina Kent it seems to be better than the last. I just love her dark romances. Man, I thought Aiden (Devious King) was dark and twisty but Cole blows him out of the water. Cole is not only dark, he might be a psychopath. But he has an iron control and a photographic memory. I don’t know why someone so dark and dangerous is so hot, but Cole is all that and a bag of chips!

Though I really liked Cole in previous books, I found out that we really didn’t know him at all. Nobody does since he keeps everything to himself. He is a bit of a Silver Stalker also, he knows everything she does and most of the reasons why.
I thought I would hate Silver in this book since she was such a mean girl in the earlier books in the series, but that is all explained in this book and deep down she is just too scared to let anybody close to her for herself and for them (she cut ties with Kim because she knew her Mother would give Kim a complex if they stayed friends). However, she does some good things for people she treats badly, and is much deeper than you would think. So Silver was redeemed early in the book for me.

Lastly, this book is definitely sizzling hot. There are a lot of intimate scenes between Cole and Silver and they are off the charts erotic. Though later in the book when the two of them were together the steamy parts were sort of glossed over. So for the fans who don’t like too many steamy scenes, this should be fine with them. For me, I like all the steamy scenes, so I wasn’t too happy when the love scenes were mentioned but not detailed.

The book contains items that go back to the first book, including some awesome scenes between Elsa and Silver and shows them from Silver’s point of view which I thought was exceptional.
