Fourth A Lie (Goddess Isles, #4). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fourth a Lie by Pepper Winters

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“There was a truth once. Truth we shared in the dark and scribed scars upon our hearts.

There was a lie once. A lie that shattered our hard-earned truth apart.”

Eleanor Grace did the unbelievable. She fell for a man who trades in women, dabbles in myth, and has the morals of a cold-hearted beast. However, love isn’t enough where past sins are concerned, and only pain can follow.

Sully Sinclair did the impossible. He gave his trust to a goddess who has the ultimate power to break him. Unfortunately, paradise is just an illusion, his islands aren’t impenetrable, and now he has to pay the price.

A fledgling connection.

A war they can’t stop.

A future that doesn’t bow to fate.

Fourth a Lie

This series just keeps getting better!

This series gets better and better! Even after this fourth book, I can’t wait to find out what happens next. There is action, adventure, intrigue, suspense, and all the heat you could possibly want. None of it is boring or slow. Just when you think the story will go one way, something totally out of the blue smacks you in the face and everything changes.

The Hero Sully has finally made it to that point where he figures out the difference between good and evil and decides to go the way of the good. I have been waiting for something to happen to get him there. Of course he isn’t totally and completely good. He still has murder in his heart when it comes to his brother, Drake and his minions. However, Sully can be excused there because Drake and his guys completely deserve everything they get.

Pepper Winters is terrific at character development and world building. From the very beginning I got a clear picture in my head of each and every character and setting. After the explosion in the last book, I could smell the burning flesh and when Pika and Skittles, the two parrots are up to their antics, I can picture them playing around and how cute they are.

The romance between Sullivan and Eleanor is no longer as hard to watch now that it is all about loving and protecting each other. Pepper Winters also finds good ways to show that deep love by mentioning their electrical connection makes it sound like they were destined to be together. But who knows what will happen after that cliffhanger. The biggest one yet and so dramatic. On to the next book Fifth a Fury and hopefully that title will be prophetic, because Sully is best when he is furious and raging. One more thing, this series is sizzling hot, five out of five flames 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.
