Each book in this series is different but just as good, if not better than the last. This one is about the ultra hot Alexei, a.k.a. Ghost, second from the top of the Vory which is a very tough version of the Russian Mob. All members have to have spent time in Russian prison prior to getting in. They are now aligned with the Irish mob in Boston.
Alexei is a computer genius as well as mob enforcer and was asked in book 1 by Mackenzie to try to find out what happened to her friend Talia who was last seen with another Russian and at the time, Alexei found that she was sold into sex trafficking to an arms dealer his mob deals with. So In this book Alexei saves her though she is past the point of wanting to be saved.
Alexei is damaged in his own ways but tries to bring her back from the brink. There are also a lot of outside forces against them, including an arranged marriage that was supposed to be set up between him and another mob bosses daughter. The romance is really well done though, just like in the first two books. He tells her he won’t be able to love her, but he is so protective of her and so hot. He is very good to her. Just so yummy…
