Refused Love (Quick To Fall, #1). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Refused Love by Sarah LeeAnn

My rating: 5 of 5 stars.

When Clair Jensen decides to leave her beloved New York behind and travel to her small hometown in Washington to visit her family, she regrettably finds herself stuck in the Phoenix airport when her flight is delayed.

Bright side? The hot lumberjack of a man seated next to her in the terminal.

After an awkward introduction, Clair spends the remainder of her delay getting to know AJ…intimately.

Without exchanging last names or phone numbers, Clair and AJ part ways in Seattle to never see each other again.

Or so they thought…

AJ Murdoch can’t stop thinking about Clair; the beautiful, crazy, mystery woman he met in Phoenix. Just when he loses all hope of ever finding her, fate steps in and he finds himself standing face-to-face with his fellow mile-high club member.

With their chemistry through the roof, Clair and AJ can’t seem to stay away from each other.

The problem? Clair is only in town for a month.

Instead of trying to deny their attraction, Clair and AJ decide to spend the next month as friends with benefits. Enjoying all the physical perks of a relationship without all the responsibilities, drama, oh and of course…feelings.

Sounds perfect right?

Refused Love

This book was so hot I could fry an egg on it!

I liked this story about two strangers meeting at a Phoenix airport during a layover for bad weather on their way to Seattle and getting to know each other a bit. These two have an immediate and intense attraction to each other and decide to be be reckless and have a bit of fun and join the mile high club. I thought that was written very well. We all know things like that happen and I actually thought the author captured the heat, the fun and whimsy of the situation very nicely.

The heroine Clair is a writer for a magazine in New York City and she is traveling to Seattle to visit her family for a month for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Hero, A.J. works in Construction in Seattle and was in Phoenix being dumped by his longtime girlfriend who was supposed to be in Phoenix for six months but the six months was up and she decided to stay.

A.J. And Clair meet again and the attraction can’t be denied, but since Clair is only in town for a month they decide to do a friends with benefits type of relationship and keep the feelings out of the mix. Though by this point A.J. pretty much knows it is already too late for him, but he will take what he can get.

I liked the book because when these two were around each other it was like combining hydrogen and oxygen and having a chemical reaction. They are explosive though it is written as two people who are falling in love and can’t keep their hands off each other. It is not written as smut or porn, and not gratuitous at all.

Clair’s sister Cami is deaf and I liked that a deaf character was included. I learned a few things I didn’t know. Like the fact that deaf people can wear special glasses at the movies that show the words. I think her character was handled very well. She was described as outgoing, as beautiful as a model and she spoke to her sister and friend in sign language but was able to understand the men by reading lips as well.

The one thing I didn’t understand was that she told one of the guys that was interested in her that she only dated deaf guys and that wasn’t really explained, maybe she will have her own book and it will be explained in detail. Overall I really enjoyed this book and would read more from this author!
