Good story, though a bit different than I expected.
The blurb made this book sound a bit more racy than it turned out to be. It talked about the heroine waking up tied to a bed after being captured by her stepfather’s enemy who she at first thought was a nice handsome guy. That did happen but that was only one small scene in the story.
The stepfather was a racist pig who, with a few of his cronies, raped the hero’s sister. So the Hero, Mikael, was going to do something similar to his daughter. Though Mikael turns out to be a good guy. The heroine, Gabriella can’t really be used against the stepfather because he never liked her to begin with.
I don’t want to give too much of the story away but a lot of it is about racism and the fact that Mikael is a black man and Gabrielle is white. There is also his mother that has an issue with not only the fact that Gabrielle is white, but the fact that she is a receptionist with only a bachelors degree and both her and Mikael are lawyers and Partners in a legal firm.
