Unexpected Gift

Unexpected Gift by R.S. Lively

My rating: 4 of 5 stars.

My brother’s best friend, AKA my sworn enemy.

The cocky doctor with a mission to drive me insane.

And I had to walk down the aisle with him.

“It’s my brother’s wedding day,” I told myself…

Caden’s a neurosurgeon.

Devastatingly handsome, and a total Casanova.

Arrogant, egotistical, and beyond rude.

The enemy disguised as Prince Charming.

We fought at every encounter.

Then tragedy struck.

And I was forced to live with the man that I hate.

We were left in charge of my niece, Posie.

He bought us a beautiful home…

Watching him with Posie.

How he took care of her.

How he took care of us.

I let my guard down. I let him in.

I can’t believe I gave him my innocence.

A one-night stand was all it should have been.

But now I’m carrying his baby.

No way he could ever change his ways, right?

Unexpected Gift

Entertaining book, but the movie was better!

I know the movie “Life as We Know It” with hottie Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl came out long before this book. But other than their professions, so much was similar. However, the movie was hilarious and the book was just a good romance and not a romantic comedy.

Caden is a Neurosurgeon and is the best friend of Molly’s Brother Brandon and Molly has disliked him since day 1. He is too good looking, women come to him is quite he man-whore. Molly hates the fact that she is drawn to him also, so she stays away and hates on him. Caden is attracted to her and can’t figure out why she hates him, but since she is his best friends’ little sister and is off limits anyway, he stays away or argues with her also.

When brother Brandon and his wife die tragically, they name Caden and Molly as guardians for their Baby, Posie with the stipulation that they live together. At that point they have to try to get along and find it hard to deny the attraction.
