Not your typical got drunk and married in Vegas story

Very enjoyable diversion from the standard “got drunk and married in Vegas” romance where the main characters find themselves married the following day and either decide to give it a try or they separate until the woman finds out she is preggars.

In this story the two main characters, Rebecca and Mitch knew each other in high school and the Vegas marriage happened 5 years ago. The heroine is gone the next morning and they have been separated ever since, but neither has filed for divorce. They live in the same town but stay far away from each other. Until this story begins when they keep getting thrown together.

Rebecca is a secretary at the local school and after school one day she helps out a kid with his bike, the kids guardian comes looking for him and yells at him for being late and gets pushy with both Tommy and Rebecca. Mitch shows up and defends Rebecca. After that there are some more run ins with the same guy. There are some tie ins with Rebecca’s friends and with Mitch’s past. It is all very good drama. Much better than I expected. No steamy sex, but a very good romance and intricate for how short it is. It is definitely worth the read.
