Mated to the Alien Rogue: Fated Mates of the Zaarn, Book 6 by Krista Luna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The blue alien who rescues me is too bossy and annoyingly handsome. But I’m stuck with him and his wicked tail.
I left Earth the proud captain of a ship destined to save humanity. I wake in a small examination room being poked and prodded by blue aliens. Escape plans whirl through my head—no one’s going to keep me from saving the women of my crew. Then he bursts in, seven-feet of command and power topped with horns.
Wrin’s the first person to speak English, but he looks just like all the other assholes who’ve been experimenting on me. When he throws me over his shoulder and runs into the jungle, the heat of his touch makes me wonder if I’m in more trouble.
We finally find the Hyoo-mon captain, and she’s on the worst planet—Zaar. Returning to my home world is a death sentence, one I won’t subject any of my crew to.
When I infiltrate the hidden lab to find her, my tail buzzes to life. Vivv is my mate. Tiny and fierce and lovely, she’s everything I’ve ever wanted. Anger burns in her eyes for what my people have done to her, but she can hate me later, when we’re safe.
I’ll fight to my last breath for the future Vivv offers me. Fight to claim her.

🎧 Audiobook Review: Mated to the Alien Rogue (Fated Mates of the Zaarn, #6)
Author: Krista Luna
Genre: Science Fiction Romance / Alien Romance
Narrators: Elle Sonali and Tor Thom
📚 Character background and Plot Dynamics
Vivian, Captain of the Ark‑1, has already survived more than most humans ever will—cryogenic sleep, an alien attack, and waking up in the hands of Zaarnian scientists who see her as nothing more than a biological puzzle to dissect. Her resilience is one of the most compelling parts of this story, and it’s no wonder Wrin risks everything to save her. His exile, his desperation, and his unwavering instinct to protect her set the tone for a romance that feels both fated and fiercely earned.
The Zaarnian worldbuilding continues to shine here, especially the political tension surrounding their dwindling population and the brutal exile system for males without fated mates. Wrin’s return to Zaarn—knowing it could mean his death—adds a constant undercurrent of danger. Yet it’s Vivv’s intelligence, courage, and refusal to be anyone’s lab specimen that makes their partnership feel balanced and believable.
🌟 Highlights
• The fated‑mate reveal is deeply satisfying. Wrin and Vivv complement each other beautifully, and I loved that he recognizes her strength and sharp mind rather than treating her as fragile or exotic.
• Karmic justice is served. The scientist who experimented on Vivv and the senator who enabled her both get exactly what they deserve, and it’s immensely gratifying.
• A true series finale. Long‑running threads—what happened to the Ark‑1, the threat of the Grug, Zaarn’s population crisis—are finally resolved in ways that feel intentional and earned.
⤵️ Low Points
• The mating‑bond logistics are… a lot. The requirement for knotting, the 12‑hour duration, and the fact that they’re caught mid‑bond by authorities and a rival senator is undeniably awkward. It adds tension, yes, but also a hefty dose of secondhand embarrassment.
🎙️ Narration
The dual POV narration by Tor Thom and Elle Sonali is a standout element. Tor Thom’s deep, resonant voice is exactly what you want for a towering, muscular alien hero—commanding without being overdone. Elle Sonali’s warm, feminine tone balances him perfectly, giving Vivv both vulnerability and steel. Together, they elevate the emotional beats and make the action sequences feel cinematic.
💬 Final Thoughts
This finale delivers on its promises: action, emotional payoff, and long‑awaited answers. Vivv and Wrin’s relationship is the heart of the story, and their bond feels both passionate and purposeful. While the mating‑bond scene may test your tolerance for forced proximity under extreme circumstances, the overall narrative is gripping, satisfying, and rich with character growth.
As a concluding installment, it wraps up the series with confidence and heart. Fans who’ve followed the Ark‑1 journey from the beginning will find this ending rewarding, romantic, and worth the wait.
