Audiobook Review: Alien Warrior Unbeaten (Galaxy Games, #3) by Ava Ross. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Alien Warrior Unbeaten: Galaxy Games, Book 3 by Ava Ross

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Can a stoic alien warrior melt the heart of his Earthling fated mate?

After my mother gave me to the Shiedar invaders as a child, they took me to a place where screams of pain echoed around me. The leader tortured me and other young males I soon called my brothers.

In his determination to twist me into a feral warrior, the leader turned me into a beast. To protect myself, I built a barrier around my heart; a simple task since my people only experience muted emotions. Only when we meet our fated mates do our feelings come alive.

Then I was sold to the Galaxy Games, where I’ll now complete a series of nearly impossible tasks. If I win, I’m free. Lose and I die. They partner me with her, and suddenly, I’m overwhelmed with intense emotions. A craving for her unlike anything I’ve felt before. A fierce need to protect this Earthling female. And the stark terror that she’ll be stolen from me if we’re lucky enough to win.

She’s determined to return to her home planet once we’ve finished the Game, but now that she’s brought indescribable joy to my life, how can I let her go?

🦸🏻‍♂️ Hero: Zomir

Born into disgrace, Zomir’s childhood was shattered when his father fled their people in shame and his mother sold him to an alien warlord at just twelve. Lord Vunne, a twisted geneticist, sought to build an army by grafting alien and animal parts onto abducted boys. Zomir survived the horrific experiments that claimed the lives of others, forging a bond with three fellow survivors. When Vunne deemed them failures, he sold them to the Galaxy Games—a brutal interstellar bloodsport.

🦸🏼‍♀️ Heroine: Cami

Still haunted by the emotional scars of a toxic relationship and the death of her boyfriend, Cami clings to her nightlight like a lifeline. One night, she wakes to find a four-armed intruder in her home—and is knocked unconscious by a blinding light. She awakens in a cage aboard an alien ship, surrounded by other captive women. Their destination? A gladiator-style arena teeming with alien spectators and towering male combatants.

🔥 Plot Snapshot

The Galaxy Games is a deadly reality show broadcast across the stars. Each team—one male, one female—must survive three lethal challenges. Failure means death. Zomir chooses Cami as his partner, and they’re thrust into stasis before their turn. As the third pair to compete, they face mounting pressure from the Games’ creators, who are furious that the previous two couples survived. The odds are stacked against them—the Games were never meant to be won.

❤️‍🔥 What Worked

• Zomir’s instant recognition of Cami as his fated mate adds emotional depth.
• His experimental enhancements—like his chameleon-like camouflage—are both cool and plot-relevant.
• The story charts a compelling emotional and physical journey for both leads, which is why I keep coming back to this series.

🤨 Room for More

• The ice planet setting? Not my favorite. It made me feel cold just listening. That said, I appreciate the variety—each book explores a new world, from aquatic realms to desert landscapes to frozen wastelands.

🎧 Narration Vibes

Dual POV narration by Tawnia Murray and Lance Greenfield. Greenfield’s voice is smooth and well-paced, making Zomir’s chapters a pleasure. Murray’s performance is serviceable—fine, but not particularly memorable.

📝 Final Thoughts

This installment delivers high-stakes action, emotional healing, and a dash of sci-fi horror. Zomir and Cami’s bond anchors the chaos, and while the setting chilled me to the bone, the story kept me warm with its heart. If you’re into survival romance with alien gladiator flair, this one’s worth the listen.
