Captured by the Soldier Wolf: Shifter Nation: Special Ops Shifters, Book 3 by Meg Ripley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
After being ousted from his pack, Special Forces Weapons Sergeant Flint Myers has found a new sense of family in his Special Ops Shifter Force brothers. But ever the lone wolf, he still has a restless feeling gnawing at him, and he’s not sure how to quell it.
Captured by the Soldier Wolf
Soon after he’s sent on a secret mission to infiltrate a pack in the Rockies, he realizes that finding a mate might be just what he needs to finally soothe the beast within, when he meets their alpha’s alluring sister.
Audra Larson has just returned to her home pack with her little boy after a messy divorce, hoping to piece together a new life. But when her brother asks her to keep an eye on the newcomer Flint, to make sure he’s not a spy, Audra’s wolf discovers he’s something entirely her mate.
The last thing she needs is another man in her life at this point, so she does her best to focus on the task at hand. When she happens upon Flint one night deep in the forest and overhears his phone call with the Force, Flint has no choice but to take her hostage.
He must keep his cover and protect the integrity of the mission, but when tensions rise between these two shifters out in the middle of the woods, will they be able to ignore the howling of their inner wolves?
Another interesting story in this series!

The Hero: Flint Meyers – he is a wolf shifter and a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant, his weapons are very important to him, he doesn’t like going anywhere without them. He makes them himself. After getting ejected from his pack by his cousin who had never liked Flint, he joined the military and later got a job and found a family with the Special Ops Shifter Force. He had been feeling restless for the past few weeks, so much so that he has been changing into his wolf form and going on some midnight runs a lot more often than usual.
The heroine: Audra Larson – she is the sister of the Alpha of a pack of wolf shifters in Colorado. She had just returned to the pack, with her son after divorcing her ex-husband, Luke. He cheated on her, and they never did anything but argue, so she packed up and moved in with her parents, temporarily. She isn’t quite sure what she wanted to do with her life or where she wanted to live.
The Story: There are a couple of wolf packs in Colorado that have been having issues over territory, and it has gotten so bad that shifters are being attacked on the streets resulting in major injuries and a few deaths. The mission was a perfect match for Flint. So, he was off to Colorado Springs to investigate.
Like the first two books in this series, there is a good romantic suspense storyline about the mission. In this one, there are some good supporting characters, including Audra’s brother. Flint has to try to join their pack to do his investigation and he can’t take his eyes off Audra when he gets there. Her presence distracts him from his mission, and he ends up taking her captive which adds to the intrigue of the story. Not to mention the sizzling chemistry between the two main characters.
This audiobook was narrated from multiple perspectives, done in solo narration by Stephen Borne. Stephen Borne has a deep, gravelly voice that I quite like for the alpha bear shifter. Of course, any man with a deep voice doesn’t have the best voice for the female characters, though his isn’t as distracting as some. Overall, the narration was done well, though I do tend to listen to dual and duet narration much more often than solo.
