One very large orc. One very small human. Does size matter?
Cupcakes for My Orc Enemy
When Elara flees corporate life to open a coffee shop in the small southern town of Fairhaven Falls, the last thing she is looking for is a relationship. But when she meets Grondar, the gruff orc owner of the bakery next door, sparks fly. Literally.
Grondar has been burned by human females before. He has no intention of letting the feisty little female next door get under his skin – no matter how attractive he finds her. And it certainly doesn’t mean he’s going to let her get away with sabotaging his business.
Despite their disastrous first meeting, Elara still finds herself having inappropriately heated thoughts about the massive orc next door. The attraction seems to be completely one-sided – until he reluctantly comes to her rescue and she discovers a very different side to the grumpy male.
Can they overcome their initial animosity, their ongoing rivalry, and their very obvious differences to find a future together?
Sweet and Steamy audiobook with terrific narration!

The heroine: Elara – she just moved to Fairhaven Falls which is a town known for its Supernatural residents. She was moving to Fairhaven Falls as part of the mayor and town council’s efforts to bring in more humans to the town. Last year was the worst year of her life and she decided to start fresh in a new town, and she was given concessions on her business costs in order to open a café in town, and she would live in the apartment above her coffee shop.
The Hero: Grondar – he is a very grumpy orc. He owns the bakery in Fairhaven Falls. He loves to bake but hates people. He is known for being broody and grouchy throughout the town, as much as he was known for his genius in baking all kinds of sweet treats. He had wanted to expand his bakery into the empty storefront next door, but the mayor and town council sold the place to a human. He hated humans, especially humans who wasted his time. Though he does employ a pixie to deal with the customers.
The Story: Elara rubs Grondar the wrong way from the minute she came to town, and she wasn’t too fond of the surly orc and his penchant for loudly roaring on the other side of her wall. It didn’t help that they first met after she put a container with metal into the microwave and it started smoking until he came in and stopped a fire from starting. Though things heated up between them when he threatened to spank her.
This was a cute small-town romance, with a paranormal twist. I liked both characters and they surprised me a bit. I kind of expected a story with cupcakes in the name, to be sweet and cute, but not spicy and sexy. These two had a lot of chemistry. The characters were great, ad Grondar was one of the best grumpy Heroes that I had come across in a while. The one thing that bothered me was a witch in town was named Gladys Kravitz, and it kept making me think of the nosy neighbor on Bewitched.
This audiobook was told in the main characters points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Heather Firth and Aiden Snow. I just love Aiden Snow’s deep, but soft, sexy voice. He always does a fantastic job, and I could listen to him read a phone book. Heather Firth has a soft, feminine voice and sounds age appropriate for Elara. She also does a great job.
