Wed to the Alien Beast by January Bell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Just when I think I’m getting my life under control, my alien husband kidnaps me—and manages to get amnesia.
I’ve mostly come to grips with my new reality. Earth is a memory, I’m making a name for myself, and I can usually ignore the reason I’m here… my horrible alien warlord husband.
But the Beast doesn’t want to be ignored. Nope. He wants me, and unlike other Suevans, he doesn’t like to take no for an answer… so he kidnaps me, determined to win me over. Good luck with that, buddy.
When he gets amnesia, though, forgetting his name, his history, and me, I’m stuck in the dangerous alien jungle with him. But he continues to show me a different side of himself, and I’m starting to believe there’s more to the Beast than I imagined.
Forced to confront my own fractured past and rely on each other to survive, we’ll have to find our way home… or make a new one together.
Another good one in this series!

Narration type: Dual Narration
The heroine: Abby – she is one of an all-female mission to Suevan territory. The women thought they were on a mission to open communications with the Suevan warriors and get technology to protect Earth. They found out that their own government sold them out after they learned the ‘welcoming ceremony’ was really a marriage ceremony. Tati was married to the one known as “The Beast”. Though she has been living with the other duped women.
The Hero: Evoz (a.k.a. The Beast of Suevan) – when one of the other males had been reading his wife’s alien romance novels, he had gotten the idea that females like to be kidnapped. So Evoz decided to knock Abby out and kidnap her. Despite the fact that Abby is one of the females that has been made a warlord. She had been in the human military and was a very strong female.
The Story: Abby had gotten drunk one night, and kissed her ‘husband’, but since then they haven’t seen much of each other. One night Abby was at the miza (Suevan treehouse) she shared with the other women, and they were having a bachelorette party for one of the women who decided to stay with her “husband”. When she went to her room, he drugged her and kidnapped her. Abby was not happy at all when she woke up in a small cave.
Evoz is very domineering and tells Abby her place is with him, and she is so not interested, though she is quite attracted to the huge alien male. Though she is a warlord, she is no match for the beast and his high-handed behavior doesn’t sit well with her. When Evoz leaves the cave and doesn’t come back for a while, Abby starts getting worried about him. So, she is relieved when he returns though he seems to have hit his head and he doesn’t know who Abby is, or who he is for that matter, then he passes out.
I quite liked the idea of the alien with amnesia. Usually if anyone has amnesia, it is the heroine in the story. This was a good switcheroo to that standard trope. Evoz thinks Abby might be a goddess of old since she has no scales. This was a good story, the two of them kept getting into situations they had to figure out, and of course they got closer as the story progressed. I was glad Abby was able to see Evoz in a different way, since he was such a jerk at first, but when he got amnesia, he was basically reset to years before, prior to losing his family and becoming the hardened man known only as The Beast.
This audiobook was told in the main characters points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Mason Lloyd and Hollie Jackson. I have heard these two narrated quite a few alien romance books and I like them both quite a bit. They have distinct voices that work well for this genre, and they are both very expressive.
