Audiobook Review: Boss Man Bridegroom (The Bromance Club, #3) by Meghan Quinn. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Boss Man Bridegroom by Meghan Quinn

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Will you do me the greatest honor of all time and be my bridegroom?” she asks, hope in her eyes . . .

How did I get here? My assistant, bent on one knee, holding my hand, her expectant face waiting for an answer.

Just . . . how?

How did I go from being insulted by Charlee Cox to hiring her to be my assistant? How is it that she’s chaos in color – making me crazy and my life better at the same time?

I never thought I would be staring down at her bright blue eyes begging me to go along with this ridiculous scheme I suggested.

Yes, I suggested. Like the idiot I am, I thought hey, why not start an HR nightmare and have my assistant ask me to marry her?

Confused? Don’t worry, so am I.

But try to follow along, because this is how I became Boss Man Bridegroom.

Boss Man Bridegroom

Steamy, funny and outrageous office romance!

Narration type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Charlee “bag of dicks” Cox – Three years ago, Charlee’s fiancé stood her up at the alter but went on their honeymoon alone. Since then, she has felt pressure from her grandmother to get married. She was recently let go from her executive assistant job because of a merger. She attends an office supply convention and is a bit too exited to be there and see all the new office supplies. She meets up with a man named Linus who she worked with in the past over the phone and he just happens to be doing the hiring for one of his bosses’ friends who has high standards and wants someone who can keep up with him. Charlee is interested in the job working for Rath Westin.

The Hero: Rath Westin – he is a hard worker who owns multiple companies, and his last few executive assistants haven’t worked out, so he has been looking for a reliable one. He had dated one of his assistants in the past and it was a huge mistake. He is a bit of a grump when he first meets Charlee at the convention, but in his defense, he was late for a meeting with the woman Charlee pretended to be. Though when Linus formally introduces him to Charlee, he hires her on the spot.

The Story: Charlee was a bit quirky, especially with how excited she was to be at the convention. I don’t know if they still have office supply conventions, but it seems to me that many of the things she was excited about have been replaced by computer versions to save paper. Like day planners, post-its and the like. She also got a bit too excited on her first day of the new job. She likes to have pictures to commemorate things like the convention and her first day of work. She gets paid well, gets a company apartment in New York, a huge office and still she inwardly complains about the décor and lack of office supplies.

Rath and Charlee don’t get along at first, especially since she does things so differently than the assistants he is used to. Like me, he questions why she is using pen and paper rather than a computer for her notes and things. Plus, she is overly chatty and tends to run her mouth about inane things like how he takes his coffee and what he likes to eat for breakfast, and she goes into talking about the show New Girl and then right on to other topics that he could care less about. I will have to admit, I didn’t like Charlee at all at first, but it wasn’t too long before everything she did was explained and I liked her more and more as she showed how competent she was. Charlee was outrageous at times and was often so inappropriate for a work environment, though it was often very funny.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Kelsey Navarro and Connor Crais. Connor is one of my favorite male narrators, and for those I actually search out books that they narrate. He has a deep, but soft and sexy voice and does a terrific Irish accent for Rath’s best friend. Kelsey is also one of my favorite narrators, she has a great voice and is very expressive. I ended up liking this book quite a bit. I didn’t like the fact that it was a bit of a slow burn, and I thought that it did get a bit long in parts while the two main characters were getting to know each other. However, there were parts where I was laughing out loud and when they did finally get together, the story was what I had been waiting for.
