She’s walking a fine line that could get her in deep trouble with both sides. But the more time she spends with Liam, the more she wants to keep him safe—even if it means risking her own life and the future she’s been fighting for.
Dig Deeper
Liam Lachlan is one of the legendary gator shifters in the swamps of Uncertain. He’s been quiet about what he is all these years, but rumor has it some poachers have figured him out and are hunting him. Good. Bring it. It’s been a while since he had a good war. Only problem is, the girl who warned him is the daughter of the biggest, baddest poacher in the swamps, and hurting her people means demolishing her. If it’s up to the gator in him, he’ll put an end to anyone who is hunting his family. But the man in him will stop at nothing to keep Morgan safe.
Two worlds collide in the Swamps of Uncertain in this thrilling second installment of T. S. Joyce’s Keepers of the Swamp series…and these gators are just getting started.
Fantastic novella!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚🖤❤️💜🩵
Heat/Steam: 🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: ☹️☺️😊😍🥰
The Hero: Liam – he is one of two gator shifters in his town, the other being his cousin Holt. Though they didn’t spend much time together as two alpha alligators tend to not get along. The alligator poachers and shifter haters had been out in force lately, especially since it came out that Holt was a gator shifter. Seamus Holland and his friends are determined to kill all the gators they can, especially the gator shifters in the area.
The heroine: Morgan – she is daughter of Seamus Holland, the poacher. She grew up in the swamps and has always been told that she is nothing, so she believes it. She dreams of having a life of her own where she can make her own decisions and pay her own way. She is working at the local bar and restaurant called Tacky’s though her dad takes most of her money. But she has been slowly saving and when she had enough to get an apartment, she was planning to leave. She was sick of cooking and cleaning for her dad and all of his poacher friends.
The story: This was a good one, Morgan was mistreated by her father and her old friend Cal, who is now one of the poachers in her fathers little gang. She just wanted freedom, but when she started talking to Liam, even though she was brought up to hate him and all shifters, she was smarter than that and sees him as a person. She chooses not to keep up with the bigotry and bias of her family and learns that real family can be those you select and not those who you are born to.
This was a pretty short book at only 200 pages, but I really enjoyed the story. The characters were terrific, and world building was on point. I also loved the supporting characters, like Holt, Bre, the grandmother swamp witch, the old guy who owns the gas station and more. There is one more book in this series and I plan to read that one, I just wish there were more.
