Possessive by Vivian Wood
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Ballerina by day.
Possessive
Selling my virtue by night.
Left penniless by my bully of a mother, with my little sister to take care of, I have no choice but to sell the privilege of being my first to the highest bidder.
That’s where Lucas Fordham comes in.
Gorgeous, athletic, and dripping with more money than he knows what to do with.
He spots me from across the room at a dark club. And he offers me an ungodly price for the privilege of being my first.
The only catch is that he isn’t paying for himself.
No, he’s demanding an act of sexual espionage. He wants me to extract information from a business rival. But the way Lucas looks at me … the way his touch burns my bare skin …
I feel naked and ready to combust every time our gazes meet. Breathless, I agree to play his games. But I know all too well the price of this infatuation. And the toll that it could take if I were to fall into Lucas’s arms.
This story takes place in the Broken Slipper world. While listening to The Patron is not necessary to enjoy this story, it is recommended.

This was a short audiobook at only about 3 hours running time. The story was ok, but nothing original. The heroine Mannon was a nineteen year old professional ballet dancer who grew up wealthy and is used to her mom footing the bill for her life, but when her mom up and leaves, she suddenly has to pay for everything herself, including rent on a fancy New York apartment and private school for her younger sister. So she goes to get a job at a sex club where she could make a lot of money as a dancer, but decides to auction away her virginity when she finds out how much more she could make for that.
The Hero, Lucas, is a billionaire CEO who has a ton of money but got embarrassed in front of his board when some guy short sold his company stock so he wants to get back at that guy. He finds the guy at the same sex club and when the guy wants to purchase Mannon’s virginity, Lucas jumps in and gets it first.
Like I said, the virgin auction is nothing new but is always kind of a fun trope and as expected, the book was a bit smutty but overall I liked it. The character of Mannon was a bit of a conundrum since she said she had learned to be kind of cutthroat in ballet and even her friend who got her the job at the sex club said she was a b*tch. Though she didn’t really seem that way to me.
This audiobook was in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Heather Firth and Tor Thom. I really enjoyed the narration and like both of these narrators. Tor Thom has a super deep voice and Heather Firth has a soft, feminine voice that is very pleasant as well.
