The Chaos Crew: The Complete Series by Eva Chance
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A deadly female assassin, four brutally tempting hitmen, and a dark conspiracy that could end them all.
The Chaos Crew
I’m the girl you’ll never see coming. Blink and you’re dead, another target checked off my list.
Until one night my carefully ordered existence falls apart. A bloodbath and a car crash later, I find myself in the grasp of four gorgeous, intimidating men.
My captors claim they’re holding me for my protection. I can’t quite believe that.
Even if seeing how skillfully they handle their weapons makes me wonder what their hands would feel like all over me.
I have vengeance to wreak, and no man, no matter how powerful, is going to keep me caged for long.
They think they’ve caught a wounded little mouse. How could they know they’ve brought a killer into their home?
But the more I fight for freedom, the more I realize my entire life has been a cage of horrific lies.
What if these brutally tempting men are the answer to my problems rather than the cause of them?
We might just burn down the world together.
Assassins all of them!

Narration type: Dual Narration
The heroine: Dessima (a.k.a. Dess) – she lives and trains in a large house with a bunch of people, most of whom she has never met. They told her that her parents have been taken after her birth by the bad people. The household would protect her from that happening to her. They give her missions, and she is an assassin. She figures the world is a dangerous place and the only way to get out alive, is to be the most dangerous. Aside from when she is on a mission, she is not allowed beyond the boundaries of her room which is hidden behind a bookcase. Though one night the enemy comes to her house, and she is let out of her room to escape. She finds a bunch of people in the house, all brutally massacred. She gets away alive and plans on taking revenge on whomever killed everyone.
The Heroes: Julius, Talon, Blaze, and Garrison – They were The Chaos Crew. A group of mercenaries and assassins.
Julius – He is the leader of the crew, and nobody ever questioned him, it is what made them so good at what they did.
Talon – he is the muscle. He has a finely honed body for the type of work they do and he is former military.
Blaze – he is a computer whiz, could never sit still, mind always in motion, focusing in on all the details for their missions.
Garrison – he lays the groundwork for the missions; he is the youngest and newest to the crew. He has a weak stomach but is a social chameleon that could get their players into position at the start of a mission or find out information that Blaze couldn’t get with his impressive hacking skills.
The Story: The Chaos Crew were hired to massacre everyone in the mansion. They are watching video of the mansion to make sure nobody got out of the house when they see Dess outside the place. The crew didn’t like the fact that they missed something, so they decide to follow the girl. They see her hot wire a car in seconds and immediately thought she must have come from the mansion, so they figure she is a loose end that they need to take care of, but they decide to grab her and find out how she was involved.
The guys knocked Dess out and brought her back with them and they were surprised to find her very muscular, obviously she worked out regularly for years for a body like that. What was more surprising were the scars covering her stomach and back and a tattoo at the base of her skull. When she wakes, they question her fully, getting her guard up. The guys don’t know what to think about her. The writing could have been a little better, I found myself getting a bit bored at times. One thing I really disliked was the fact that the guys told Dess that they were cops and she believed them for quite a long time, despite the fact that they didn’t at all act like cops and they never went in to any police station to work. She looked like an idiot for believing that they were just cops that played fast and loose with the law.
This audiobook was in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Vanessa Moyen and Stephen Dexter. I like Vanessa Moyen’s soft, feminine voice, she is great to listen and the only thing I don’t like about her is that after a while she talks so fast that I have to keep checking that I didn’t mistakenly turn up the narration speed. Stephen Dexter is one of my top 10 male narrators. I like his voice quite a bit and can listen to him anytime. He is also great at doing different voices for different characters.
