Audiobook Review: Oliver (Project Arma, #7) by Nyssa Kathryn. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oliver by Nyssa Kathryn

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

She may have forgotten her past, but her past hasn’t forgotten her…

Tori Blake arrives in Marble Falls with nothing. Nothing but a note in her hand and cash in her pocket. She doesn’t know if those two things will be enough to get her the help she needs. She doesn’t know if they’ll lead her to the past she can’t remember.

What she does know is that someone is trying to kill her. If she doesn’t figure out who she was, and fast, her past might not be the only thing she loses.

Former SEAL Oliver Bolton thinks he has everything he needs. His brothers, their self-defense business, and his freedom. Then he meets her. The beautiful brunette who steals his focus.

When she leaves him with nothing but a fake number, Oliver assumes he’ll never see her again. Until she shows up at Marble Protection—alone, afraid, and in need of his help.

Oliver can’t lose Tori a second time. But as the couple gets closer, and her past even more so, they find themselves in a race against time to unlock Tori’s secrets…before they’re both just memories.

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙❤️💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍
Character development: 😚☹️🥹😉
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Tori Blake – she was searching for answers, she had a note from a man she spent a night with, it had a phone number and referred to Marble Protection. She had been shot and ended up falling into a river and had come out with amnesia. She knows that someone is after her, though she doesn’t know who or why.

The Hero: Oliver Bolton (a.k.a. Ax) – he is another one of the Navy SEAL team that was held captive by Project Arma for two years and had been given a super-soldier serum that altered their DNA making them stronger, faster, with better hearing, and the ability to heal faster. He and his teammates have been tracking down their former commander Hylar who started the Project and wanted to use it to get back at the country that he and his partner think betrayed them years ago. They got rid of more of Hylar’s people, including his partner in the last book and now they are starting to close in on Hylar.

The Story: Oliver loved women but didn’t feel the need to commit to any of them like his brothers have been doing lately. He met Tori and they had a one-night stand. Oliver liked her and even gave her his phone number and told him where he worked, hoping she would contact him again, though she never did and the phone number she gave him was fake. Then one night he sees her standing in the rain, but when he goes to talk to her, she was gone.

I liked this one because the character of Tori was so complex and different than usual. She was a bit of a damsel in distress, but when her memories started to come back, they painted her in a whole different light. She didn’t like what she was seeing of herself and worried that she wasn’t the good person she thought herself to be. The relationship between Oliver and Tori was developing and he needed to know what she was remembering because it affected him and his team.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Avery Caris and Oliver Clarke. I liked both of these narrators; they also did Asher’s story. I actually have liked all the narrators so far in this series. Most of the books have different narrators, there are only a few that are repeated and never in back-to-back books.
