Audiobook Review: Bodie (Project Arma, #6) by Nyssa Kathryn. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bodie by Nyssa Kathryn

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enemy so fierce, disappearing is her only choice.

Maya Harper shouldn’t be alive. All of her co-workers are dead, yet somehow, she survived. But now she knows something. Something important. Something that someone will kill to keep secret.

Running is her only choice. Her only protection. But no one can run forever, especially when the enemy’s reach is long. Soon, trusting a stranger becomes her only option.

Former Navy SEAL Bodie Ryan is on a mission: Find Maya, a runaway lab technician—sole witness to a brutal crime—and keep her safe. She’s become entangled with his nemesis, which makes Bodie and his team her only hope of living to see tomorrow.

Finding her is the easy part…separating professional from personal is the real challenge.

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙❤️💜

Narration type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Maya Harper – she was a scientist and a runner, though she has an atrial septal defect in her heart (a hole in her heart), which is killing her, but may have also saved her on the day when huge men with supernatural abilities broke into the lab at the pharmaceutical company where she worked and killed all her co-workers. She has been on the run ever since, moving from place to place. She recently found a job in a bar in Wyoming.

The Hero: Bodie Ryan – he is a former Navy SEAL who had been held captive for two years and had been given drugs without consent which modified his DNA. He and his teammates now had super speed, strength, hearing, eyesight, and more. They all now live in a town called Marble Falls and together they own Marble Protection and are hunting their former commander Hylar, who is the man behind Project Arma and wants to create his own army of super soldiers so he can rule the world.

The Story: Bodie was tasked with finding and protecting Maya since he and his teammates know that what she witnessed that day would put her in the sights of Hylar and the enhanced soldiers that work for him. He got a job as a bartender at the same bar where Maya worked. They got to know each other as friends while Bodie kept his secret about why he was there, and Maya kept hers about what she was running from.

Like the previous books in this series, the story in this book was good. We find out more about the beginnings of Project Arma and the people behind it. There was some steam, some good friends and I liked that this book took place in a different town than Marble Falls. I liked both characters and the story was surprising in parts. I like it when things happen that you can’t predict.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Alex Knox and Janine Granda. I really like both of these narrators. Janine has a youthful, yet intelligent sounding voice and she sounds very natural. Alex Knox has a deep voice, which I love, and he is good at having different voices for different characters.
