Review: Very Merry Married (Kringle Family Christmas, #2) by Molly O’Keefe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very Merry Married by Molly O’Keefe

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ethan

I’ve got my hands full.

Running for mayor of my home town in Colorado. Trying to save the family business—and doing my best to survive Christmas without murdering my brother. Nowhere on this list is room for Lexie to show up a year after our epic one-night stand.

Vegas show girl, owner of the meanest dog I’ve ever met, and the star of every fantasy I’ve had since I came home. And apparently… my wife? And she wants me to sign divorce papers.

Hell no.

Lexie

I do not get drunk married. That’s what tourists do in Vegas, not locals. But even I am susceptible to gorgeous eyes and an excellent jaw line.

I was so sure Ethan was different from the jerks I usually fall for, until I woke up married without a groom or a way to get a hold of him. A year later, I finally see him splashed all over the internet—fighting with his brother at a Colorado airport.

So, what’s a showgirl to do? Put on my best heels, put my dog in a hand bag and go find my husband so I can end my sham marriage. But as soon as I arrive in Salt Springs, that plan goes out the window.

Ethan hasn’t forgotten me and the chemistry between us is real and explosive.

Now that I’ve found him he doesn’t want to let me go.

Was our wedding a Vegas mistake? Or a Christmas miracle?

Very Merry Married

Based on every Hallmark Christmas movie ever…

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: 🙂🥰😎😄😋

The Hero: Ethan Kringle – he was the fixer of his family, which means he always was needed for something. He was also the president of the city council for Salt Springs, Colorado. His father owns the Kringle Inn and Christmas tree farm. His brother is known as Matt “The Mountain” Kringle and is a famous professional hockey player, and his sister Kristen is a successful businessperson in New York. Last year around Christmas, Ethan made a trip to Las Vegas to talk a green energy company into building a factory in town to bring jobs and industry to the area. While there, he had a drunken one-night stand with a beautiful woman and left her sleeping to catch his morning flight. He couldn’t forget her though.

The heroine: Lexie Platzski – she was a Vegas showgirl at Caesars Palace. She supported both herself and her mother who basically is a professional mistress. Though she recently sprained her ankle on a hike and has been out on sick leave for two weeks. She has one more week left and if her ankle doesn’t heal soon, her job may be in jeopardy. Her friend shows her an internet video of a man that looks like all the pictures she has on her phone of the night she married a stranger, and sure enough, Ethan Kringle is her Ethan. So, she heads to Salt Springs to get him to sign some divorce papers.

The Story: Lexie remembers the entire night; she can’t forget it in fact. Since it was about the best night of her life. But waking up alone the next morning was a huge letdown, and when she checked the marriage license, Kringle looked more like Krumble and she couldn’t find Ethan Krumble anywhere. Ethan is happily surprised to see Lexie when she shows up at the Kringle Inn while he is helping out at the front desk. He thinks she is his Christmas Miracle when she takes charge and helps him out with the crowd of guests who were getting pretty antsy.

“You guys really like Christmas, don’t you?” I asked, taking in the room’s decorations. “Or do you guys film those Hallmark Christmas movies here? Because you totally could. It’s like Christmas threw up all over this place.”

“It was just chemistry,” I whispered.
“Let’s find out,” he whispered back. “Three weeks. You could think of it as a vacation.”
“Vacation to the Arctic Circle. That’s not a thing.”
“Our tourism numbers would indicate that it is a thing.”

I hadn’t read the first book in this series, though I after reading the blurbs, I think you can pretty much read them in any order since they all take place during the same time period and are about the three Kringle siblings. So, I went into this one based on the Blurb. I expected the married a stranger in Vegas trope which I really love and got that plus a Hallmark Christmas movie plot but with the added benefit of hot sexy times and a bunch of cursing (I really like the fact that Matt can barely speak without swearing). The inn and the town overdid Christmas to the extreme and the fact that the main characters had to save the inn and tree farm from financial ruin, was like the plot of nearly every Hallmark Christmas move ever. Though there is a reason I like Christmas movies and I liked this book as well.
