Review: The Wolf’s Fake Bride (Savage Shifters Special Ops #2) by Lisa Cullen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Wolf’s Fake Bride by Lisa Cullen

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I need to save the love of my life.
The woman who is everything I want in a mate.
The woman who doesn’t even know who I am.

Being a wealthy businessman and a former Army Ranger has its perks.
I’m strong and powerful in every way.
But that power is useless if I can’t claim Elise.
She doesn’t know that I’m a wolf shifter.
I have a capable agency that can save her.
In fact, I’m the only person in the world who can rescue her from her kidnapper.
If… she pretends to be my fake wife.
It’s the only way I can get her out.
The only way she would end up in my arms and let me take her innocence.
I’m obsessed with her curves, her fearlessness…
But that same attitude might come in the way.
How will she react when she finds out the truth about who I really am?

The Wolf’s Fake Bride

Steamy action and adventure!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🩵🖤❤️💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: ☺️😍🥰

The heroine: Elise – she grew up with a single father who built his company into a success and when she was ready, she took over for him at the company. While in London for meetings, she was abducted by Iranian terrorists who kidnapped her for ransom. She woke up in Iran, and was held in a small shack. From what she had heard on the news of similar kidnappings of wealthy women, she knew that whether her father paid the ransom or not, she would be killed.

The Hero: Jared – he is a wolf shifter who had been an army ranger until he retired and opened a security firm with other former military shifter friends. Their firm was hired by Elise’s father to rescue her. He told them that he would pay the million-dollar ransom to them if they found and rescued her before the date he was supposed to pay.

The Story: Jared and his buddies (a bear shifter, a dragon shifter and a tiger shifter), found Elise and got her out of the encampment where she was held captive. The three others took off in different directions than Jared and Elise and all were supposed to meet up at a certain place a number of days later. Elise and Jared had to trek through the surrounding landscape for days with the terrorists hot on their heels.

This book was fairly short (150 pages) and it got steamy very early on. It seemed that every night they stopped for rest, Jared and Elise couldn’t hold back from each other and were intimate despite their exhaustion and the danger. I liked the steamy scenes, but it was a bit unrealistic. Though it made for a decent story and I liked the action and adventure. The character development left a bit to be desired, as I learned a lot about the strength of their characters for surviving and pushing through everything, but I didn’t learn all that much about either of their lives, aside from the initial background information.
